The Ghost, love that place. You should try this in the winter, those river crossings get a little bit spicy at times.
(Please respect the trail closure past km 39, aka shortly after the old diversion dam)

 

thats the one! yea they put up a couple bridges, when you first enter now, but further up there are still exposed river crossings. would be interesting in the winter but for sure wouldnt want the stock tires though haha

 

What the... Is sub-10 L/100km for a whole tank common for the rest of you?? I couldn't even dream up those numbers with my Taco. I may have got in the 9's once, cruising in 5th and 1500rpm on a freshly paved 60kmh road in the middle of the night. Otherwise, I'll get in the 11's at typical highway speed, 12's with enough city driving blended in.

My 2011 Rogue 2.5L barely gets 9.3 these days!

 

Nope, I on average get mid to low 12's with majority highway driving(105-115km/hr). But I also have slight bigger and heavier tires than stock, and most of my driving has hills.

Don't forget being a manual with 4.30 gears means we'll never get the same as a automatic for mileage all things being equal.

 

Yup, I considered that. But TeecoTaco is getting 9.3 with his stick shift.

 

Ohhh, did see that. Maybe he lives where it is really flat with very few big hills, and or close to sea level.

 

I'm getting 10.5 or so commuting here in Calgary, mostly highway commute. Elevation is the big difference me thinks, these guys are talking sea level trips. Hit 9.5 once going to Banff but doing 80 due to snow.

 

Very nice, how far past the temporary bridges that they put up can you go before it's closed until the winter?

 

You are able to go to KM marker 39, which is shortly after the trees past the old diversion dam(old broken down wood structure in the creek). They did put a sign up but it isn't exactly easy to see

95% of the trip photo below is hwy, but cruising along at 110-115 km/hr...i know it's not entirely accurate, but it's pretty damn close...funny enough I used to show 586 kms to empty at full...after my KY road trip, it went up to 593...

I'm entirely stock, firestone destination tyres. Not a fan of them, but they are good in highway. Won't be replacing with the same when they wear out...probably before. (Anticipate future question on what you fellow canucks use for the snow).

SW Ontario...600 kms round trip Toronto-Sarnia every weekend. 500-700 ASL. So ya, other than the escarpment, no real hills.

 

First one is right after the decent then the next one is like 10-20m after that

 

I just got back from a run to B,C, and back..(8,000 kms+-). mostly thru the US... got mostly 28 MPG cdn..... One day in Montana, I got 28.9 MPG CDN and I tried to squeeze it to 29, but was not successful...! Damn, this truck does good on that US gas when you get it for around 75 cents/liter(CDN)...(got it for 60 cents to 80 cents).. Beats CDN prices all to shit,....

Anyone know what a good deal on a new Tacoma in Canada is lately? One dealer here will give me $2700 off the MSRP on a 2017 TRD Sport Double Cab auto. Seems good for a Tacoma, as they don't usually deal down much. Thoughts?

 

What's the out the door final all in cost? If it's close to 41K, I'd say that's a good deal, but it's been almost a year since I was shopping for one, plus the 18's are right around the corner.

 

$40,800 and I can order the colour I want if I'm willing to wait, which I am. Thanks for the reply.
