What's weird is that if I wake up super early (5-7 am), I'm usually really high energy until about midday, then I crash. Waking up at 7:30, it takes me until about 9 am to be good and awake, but after that, I'm good until I go to bed. My peak energy levels are definitely like 6-10 pm though.

Same here, but for fishing and hunting. My wife has to wake me up by yelling at me every morning as she's getting ready for work...come hunting season, I can be up, dressed and on my way to the deer stand at 5 am like it's Christmas morning lol

Yep. Hunting and fishing I get up a couple hours before sunrise usually. Been trying to get up at 5:30 to go to the gym...I always say fuck it, I can go after work. I'm out of bed at 15-20 after 8, at work at 9. Also can't usually fall asleep until around 1 though...soooo...

Hey I got a question. If gaining is your goal, have you considered just eating, and just not working out until you put more weight on? Then once you figure out what your maintenance cals are, you can adjust accordingly and lift?

I think he said he was getting stir crazy not working out the other day. I don't know if eating and not incorporating fitness is exactly the best idea. One of the biggest benefits when bulking is your supplying your muscles with all of the nutrients it needs to grow, the idea is to put on muscle mass primarily. If he is just fat and then cuts again he will get the same spot he is at now and have one hell of a struggle just jumping back in the gym. I think he has the right approach and the right mindset.

Anyone on here going to the UFC gym in Huntington Beach? I live right around the corner and am a member but don't have a workout partner except for my wife but we can only go together a couple times a week..... If you've been thinkers my about joining you should, the facility is top notch and the classes are great too.

He's a LONG way from fat brotha. Eating more and eating properly is going to supply him with enough cals to gain. I'm curious to see what he thinks. You are aware that he will have to eat more if he works out, right?

Understood, I just think why waste potential development time. If he feeds his body properly with enough of a surplus he can start working out now and be ahead of where he would be otherwise

What jack said below. I hate being inactive. I can't stand it. I was an athlete my whole life up through college. I go crazy if I sit for too long.
I just need to really focus on meal prepping and eating properly. I'm getting better at it. I've also been a lot more hungry recently since working out consistently so it helps me eat more and more often. Just need to eat the right things.

Yea it seems like that will always be the toughest element. I'm currently trying to rework my macros and I hate building up a new meal plan from scratch. It's a struggle that's for sure

Ever consider taking a mass gainer if you're having trouble eating enough to bulk?

I haven't. But I just started getting back in to working out and even more recently (this week) started counting macros. I'll give myself a week or two of trying to get to where I need to be calorie wise at the least, and then look in to a mass gainer.

Don't waste your money on that crap. Just eat. You could always eat less satiating foods so your not as full. So much. Your satiating foods are gonna be your oats, rice, hb eggs things of that nature. For me if I'm hungry I destroy oats but then I'm not hungry anymore for a while. Where I can eat an omelet and be hungry again in 30 minutes.
