just had to order some new headlights because my amber inserts looked like this and have split apart and are bouncing around inside. the headlights are also foggy and cracked, but this pushed them too far. what's the best way to avoid this with my new headlights? i'm guessing leds?

My dealer was happy to turn them off for free. Got a free car wash to boot.

Yup, wish I would have put them in when I got the new set. I didn't going on the fact they said this won't happen again because the new lenses were glass. Guess they grabbed a box of the old headlights instead of the TSB ones. Bastards.

Because when the e-brake is engaged, you're assumed to be parked and not moving.

Someone on here had the same thing happen to them and they went back to the dealer and bitched and was successful in getting TSB headlights. The thread even has the new and old part numbers.

this is off topic but since were talking about the tsb headlights, ive had them for almost 2 years and have no problems with the lens cover. i drive about 2 hours a day so id say they are pretty good. if you can get your hands on a set then go for it.
