What's the raiting on a sb mid height? I want to mount my rtt on top and get my spare mounted right underneath to get more clearance.

I mean, don't put 800 lbs of pressure treated lumber on one side of the rack like one customer did. Other than that, a little common sense will go a long way.

RTT's loaded with people are no problem.

Then it looks like a high long bed rack might be on order here soon.
Any issues with running a long bed rack on a short bed truck?

Just got my rack last week and started planning out the mounting of it. I have a retrax cover and it has 4 mounting positions just like the kb rack does. I'm kinda stuck now on a couple issues maybe someone can help me out that has a retrax or other rolling cover like a pace edwards or retrax.
I started putting it together and i did break a couple of the bolts while tightening them. Chad do you recommend a certain torque spec? I really wasnt tightening too hard an the nuts just ripped off half the bolts.

    1. The mounting positions towards the rear of the bed are pretty much at the same spot as the mounting positions of my retrax cover so i'm thinkig of redrilling another hole down the retrax rail and mount it somewhere else, but the metal is pretty thin.

    2. When the tonneau brackets are installed it lifts the retrax side track rails 1/4 inch which raises the mounting hold 1/4 as well and no longer matches up with the t nut hole that goes into the factory rail.

    hmmm what to do now?

    Hi All,

I'm having a hell of a time mounting the Rotopax Mounts. I just read over every post I could find and zoomed in on every image I saw. I guess I have one question: Can it be done without modifying either the mount or the rack???

I found that I can use the two small holes on the mounting plate, but I don't have the hardware (no big deal to get), but will a bolt that small hold up? It seems to fit the holes cut on the side panel of the rack.

    Here's what I see:

    fits:

But I would like to be able to use these:

Can anybody show what they've done?

    Thanks!

Hey buddy, I simply cut the rotopax mounts down a little to make them fit on the side rail... went to hardware store and got a tiny bit longer bolt length for the two main bolts of the rotopax mounts. See pic...

I'm experiencing awning-envy. Thankfully my medicine should be here soon ...
