Haha. After being in the military, I don't trust the government to ever get faster.

Glad you found it and yes I'll need to engrave my lower with my Trust Name, City, and State. Just in case anyone else was wondering

Yea a year right now but times should start going down since we're about out of Pre-41F

I thought that was only if you are intending to sell the item? :notsure:

    http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2016/01/foghorn/do-you-need-to-engrave-your-form-1ed-sbr/

I'll dig through the actual NFA language later today, but the author has a point. All other information I can find, just states that it's required to be engraved as you commented.

Nope thats required on all Form 1 Firearms because a Form 1 is the act of building a firearm. That means you need engrave it with the builder information aka your trust info. You can start with another companies stripped lower but that is registered as a rifle or pistol not an NFA item.

I tell everyone these words of wisdom who thinks about waiting to file. The longer you wait the longer you wait.

Is there a Hush act and a Shush act?

The shush act aims to have suppressors treated as accessories, no 4473 or anything.

If I understand correctly the HPA was tacked onto another bill, the SHARE act.

41F was put in place and THEN people mass filed and freaked out. Thats why wait times suck right now. Once we get through those I dont see it taking more than few more weeks than the electronic way. They still needed to print the electronic forms to review and file them.

Two questions, is that a below 16 inch barrel and is the upper actually attached. If so I would take the picture down because the stamp isnt approved yet. If it's a bigger than 16 inch barrel and the upper isnt attached carry on :D

SHUSH act and HPA are separate.
The SHUSH act would completely de-regulate suppressors whereas the HPA treats them as standard firearms.

From my understanding the SHUSH act was introduced to make the HPA sound like a reasonable compromise.

Actually, I'm waiting to do the barrel. When the stamp arrives I'll cut to 14.25 that will put the barrel at the end of the hand guard. That'a the shortest this type of gas operated 12ga SG can reliably cycle.
