With Repo onboard, i stayed close to shore, a distance I could have made it to shallower water. I don't really swim, but can float on my back. Water wasn't too cold so could stay active in the water if needed. By myself, I paddled a short distance to a couple small rock islands. My friends did not bring or have pfds. I know if I'm in a power boat, I want a pfd.

Sure got quiet here. Lurking is no fun without posts of adventure/mishaps/accomplishments/etc. by the old folks.

Did a garage sale with my neighbor last weekend (I REALLY hate garage sales). The wives didn't participate much, so some visitors called it a GUY THING!

Sold a few things, but couldn't sell my Leisure Suit, my Mohair Sweater, or my Naugahyde Jacket. Guess they'll be going to GOODWILL.

I may be interested in a package deal on all of your cool stuff.

When Leisure Suits came out I only liked them because my boss would let me wear them to work without a TIE. Otherwise coat and tie every day and I hated them.

Still look for a reason to leave the tie off even though I have been retired almost 11 years. You will not believe this but the last day I worked an email came in advising that managers no longer were required to wear a tie. Go figure.

Pooped today.jpg Not much going on in my neck of the woods Tex.

I don't call it a fall Jerry. This is what I tell folks Falling.jpg

I was very fortunate to be working in a blue collar field so I didn't have to wear a tie Gary. But I do remember my old leisure suits. And the platform shoes to go with them :rofl:. Almost like Saturday Day Night Fever :D. When I show the grand kids pictures of myself back in the 70's they bust a gut laughing. I have to tell them "at least my pants were around my waist and not my knees with my butt wasn't sticking out!!!!" The Good old Days they were.

Fortunately I didn't have to wear a tie for my IT work, and I was allowed to work a 4 day flex schedule. Not only did I only work 4 days a week, I also set my own hours. They were happy, I was happy. The month that I retired they eliminated flex schedules and put everyone on a M-F 8-5 schedule. Perfect timing.

Well, another scorcher today on the Gulf Coast. Heat index (indices-have seen both words used) of 107 with near 100 % humidity.

Those who say you get used to it are completely wrong.

I do enjoy not having snow and rarely ice though.

I need Ken, Mike, Carl, and Moose to post some refreshing cool pictures of their habitat.

(Someone has to wake this thread up)

    Morning all:
I think they declared a drought here in PA, hasn't rained for about 6 hrs.!
Glad I don't have a nice shiny new car to keep clean!!!! :boink:

Latest project I DON'T NEED, replacing all the calipers and brake pads on the 99 Chevy truck plus 2 rear rotors. Jim heard a noise last time we went fishing and the last time I got it inspected the mechanic suggested I replace the rear rotors because they were getting pretty rusty. When we got home the wheels were hot and figured better check what's going on and it's time to put the new rotors on. Rear pads were down to almost nothing and when I went to push the caliper pistons back they were really hard to push back. So figured if the two rear calipers were acting up the fronts aren't going to be far behind and might as do them as well. Apparently the noise he was hearing was the warning tabs on the pads contacting the rotors, glad he heard it and got me to start looking.
Something you don't expect with less than 37k on the truck, but @ 18 yrs. old and not using it very much probably had a lot to do with it.
That's my primary tow vehicle, need to keep it in shape and ready for fall walleye fishing, sure hope the fall fishing is better than this spring was! :(

    Carl,

You just reminded me to be thankful for not having problems with rust caused by salty roads.

The glass is full now that my focus has shifted from the heat.
