You're an avid bbq'r, griller, and smoker like me, what do you think of the Pit Barrel Cooker company? Thinking of getting one for the occasional charcoal grilling and smoking for extra flavor. Also seems easier to do so with their design idea. One bag of charcoal and you're set for several hours. https://www.pitbarrelcooker.com/about-the-pbc/

Sure. I think its pretty normal. I was talking with a good friend about this the other day. We both live great lives and do a lot of different things but at times feel the need to do more. It's part of the reason why I stopped modding the FJ years ago to travel instead. it has been amazing seeing all kinds of new places and different ways of living. I've been to 6 of the 7 continents in the last few years and have seen poverty like people can't even imagine but I have also seen how happy they can be with less and working with what they got. Also I have met wealthy people who live great lives too. Trying new hobbies, talking to new people seems to help with this. Hell, if you try something and it's not for you, you never have to do it again. Same goes with talking with new people. If it's something with the old lady try to go to a quirky event around town or try something you haven't before. The children's museum does an adult night once a quarter that's actually pretty fun. There is something right about getting drunk there lol There is also a place in the north valley that does pottery classes on Fridays for $15 each that can be fun.

EDIT: I'm not saying you need to travel. It's not for everyone but its what I like to do.

I think the mods saw a powder keg with a lit fuse. There was no where for that thread to go.

I've never personally cooked on a pit barrel but we sell a ton of them and people seem to like them. Personally I think the Gateway is a better design and better built but it's also like 2x the money.

If you're just looking for a quick and easy charcoal grill tho I would look at the PK. These things are awesome! Cast aluminum so they're basically indestructible. Awesome heat control and retention. Hands down the best steaks and tri-tip grill out there and the company has been around for like 100 years. I'll be buying the larger 360 version as soon as they release it in the graphite color.

On another note I'm still a diehard Traeger guy. I should be getting my Timberline from them shortly and I was informed at work yesterday that they have invited me to their like dealer and pro team conference in Salt Lake in October for 3 days of cooking classes and what not. Pretty stoked considering I've only been at the new job 3 months.

Idk it's hard finding a vendor here in Hawaii or getting a company to ship here for free or cheap. The PBC was $250 to ship and costs $300 off the shelf.
I like the PBC idea of hanging the meat and the convection style of cooking. Also be nice to use fresh season chunked woods instead of machine chipped kiln dried chips. I'm picking the PBC up in a week so I'll let ya know.
