2nd Gen Brake Upgrade Recommendations

Half the crap most people do to their trucks isn't "needed". I don't think anybody looking for a brake upgrade is really having trouble stopping. I sure hope not anyways

 

check out Rock Auto, they have a kit from Power Stop KC 13736 Z36, I plan on this swap and Crown Stainless Lines

 

Went with Brembo rotors and pads and an AMSOIL brake fluid flush. Had the rears cleaned and adjusted. Those Brembos are no joke. Smooth operation and clean stopping. So far, so good.

 

In Washington State trailers weighing more than 3000 lbs or greater than 40% of the tow vehicle's weight are required to have brakes on all axels (RCW 46.37.340).

 

So how are we fading them despite not riding the brakes and not towing?

 

You are fading your brakes without even using them?

 

If by "using" u refer to riding them while driving down a grade..... then, yes....or is it no? Seems like trick question.



Im saying ive faded the oem and brembos, like others here while not user error aka "riding brakes"

 

You said you are not riding them down a hill. So how are you fading them?

 

By using them to stop or slow down i suppose.

 

If you are fading brakes on regular stopping you are either driving like a maniac, on a race track, or your brakes are just worn and need replaced

Learn to engine brake, to the guy riding his brakes down a grade. Yes it can be done in a manual or an automatic.

Blasphemy. You can't manually shift an automatic. ( so says the guy who had to manually shift his old Subaru. )

But can you brake boost???

 

You know I haven't tried it with this truck. On my cars the throttle cuts when brake is pushed =( does tacoma do the same?

 

Two things you need. ABS kill switch and turbo.
