What are the mounts that are under your tires? I haven't seen these before. Are they to avoid risk of sinking? For leveling?

They are leveling blocks. Kinda like Legos so you can get level on most surfaces.

I hadn't thought about these much.. But I can certainly see the advantage when using an RTT

I stayed at Crystal Cove State park near Laguna last month. Lot's of Lexus's pulling Airstreams, but incredibly well kept with great ocean views. CC releases their handicapped designated spots at 7:00 pm. That's how I got a spot without a reservation.

I only know because I saw many people using them at Overland Expo!

That might put you at the top of the RTT group. Those things are sweet! Looks like you need some new leafs to support that weight, unless you are wanting that bro lean or the pics are deceiving.

Avoided the Sierra heat and got out to Salt Point to hang by the ocean and shake down this new tent. I'm really liking how easy it is to set this thing up! Here are a couple quick pics I got with my phone...

Who wouldn't want one. Its like a mini apartment on the bed of your truck ready for wheeling! I'll continue to not look at the price or weight and pretend my RTT is the "better" option.(and know I cant afford one)

I checked them out at OE in AZ, I saw the price and quickly forgot due to the lack of my budget with everything else I need. Maybe one day I'll decide its worth it when I own my own house and my trucks not my DD in 10 yrs...

I am planning to buy a RTT soon, but I have a question first, I can't decide whether I want to put the tent on a bed rack or a trailer, which do y'all prefer?

If I put it on a bedrack, I will probably leave it on there and I'm concerned about gas mileage mostly.

For me it was the weight of a tent and rack and hard shell cap versus the all in one of the habitat that ends up lighter and cleaner. It certainly comes at a cost, but it's worth it if it's what you want. This for me is a dream build for not a daily driver, though I struggle to drive my other truck at all. Lol. I love the damn thing and camp is ready in 2 minutes. Packed up in 3 solo.

Gas mileage whats that? It's a truck so as long as I'm not getting around 15 I'll be fine with it
