It's a re-tread. There's a reason is isn't done much anymore. Dangerous shit sir. My life is worth real tires instead of some re-engineered retread crap.

As I understand those are re-mold and not re-tread, and supposedly there are important differences there that I'm not 100% clear on yet. :notsure: Reviews are all over the place. Probably just stick with my original plan to get wild peaks.

I've found I'm much happier in the long run with known quality tires even if they're double the cost

Trxus M/Ts great off-road but crap otherwise
Mastercraft MTs ok but nothing to write home about good or bad
BFG MTs in 255/85/16 were the single best set I've ever run...and lasted forever
Nitto Terra Grapplers were great at first, crap once they wore down to half tread...no traction on any surface
BFG KM2 fantastic for as long as I had them, close to as good as the KM1, but I sold the truck before they really wore down

Many years, and many training classes later....I wouldn't put anything but the best I can afford under my vehicles

Tires are probably just as important as any other mechanical part when it comes to your safety and the ability to minimize the chances of a collision

Something as simple as 5psi can make a difference on maintaining control in an emergency maneuver, tread will maintain traction in various conditions obviously, and quality control will greatly reduce your chances of something like a blowout

I buy Michelin (or BFG which is owned by Michelin) only.

Michelin North American Headquarters is in G'vegas, SC.

You'd be hard pressed to convince me that the $600 or so savings to skip on known quality tires is worth it for my peace of mind

Have been in the Michelin offices at the NA HQ doing DEC Alpha support, as well as all of the plants in the Upstate. Stinky and hot AF! Except for the offices... They're mostly just a little stinky.

Don't think you could ever get rid of the stench of rubber from anywhere associated with them.

I like to burn rubber, except on rocks, which hasn't happened since Jimbo told me about the Easy button! lol

But no, not the reek in those plants. They all have designations, and I don't remember the one between Clemson and Anderson, but it seemed to be the worst to me.

We have our own spectacularly stinky plants here where I am based now, but it's nothing like that hot, raw, Michelin smell.

Now that I think back those plants are in NA US1, US2, US3, etc... until you get to Canada and so forth.

I love that Easy Button. Jimbo walked right up to my door, leaned in, and said "oh yeah, and that's your Easy Button". Went right up Dicky Bell and Rocky Mountain Loop.
