I appreciate the feed back. I had written off the 6112s because of wanting a full 2" lift and not thinking it was a good idea to put them on max settings for a daily driver. I know that it is not advised to put the 5100s on max settings with stock coils because of the harsh ride, I didnt figure it was too different for the 6112's. I may end up going this route, still doing some research. I have been leaning towards the Fox 2.5 or OME shocks with 887.

I think they're great for what they are. Turns out they're not for me, no harm no foul. Making the swap to Fox 2.5 soon.

Lots of folks are happy with their 6112's riding a lot smoother than the 5100's. I'll be installing mine on Monday with the 4/5 setting, I'll let you know how the ride is. Either one would be a better ride than stock IMO

And the factory Tacoma springs are a progressive wind, which means as they compress they get stiffer. The 6112s supplied spring is a linear rate spring which means the stiffness stays the same as they are compressed. The 6112 shock and spring were design together and factors such as coil bind we're taking into account. Bind happens when the shock is set at the max setting and compressed if the coils on the spring touch it can affect the ride quality and sometimes cause it to be harsh or stiff.

I'll agree with the posters above, truck looks great

Are you running the Dakars in the rear or an AAL? I looked but couldn't find whether you posted that or not already

Looks like the U-bolt plates that go between the axle , did you do a U-boat flip conversion on your rear end?

Waiting for some more people to install these at the top setting for '16+ which is what I would be doing if I get these.

I installed a 6112/5160 combo with dakars and total chaos UCA's yesterday. The 6112's are at the 4/5 setting. I drove around today before taking the truck to the shop for an alignment and the ride is butter smooth. I'll get the truck back from the shop tomorrow to post pics, measurements, and an update on the ride.

So far, rides smooth. Have put a whopping 5 miles on it since done. Getting aligned this week, then taking to a off road park on Sat. I'll have more feed back after that. I barely drive the truck during the week.

thats what she said. hah sorry couldnt help myself. 31yr old with a kids mind at times

2 seems just about perfect height wise. Just curious how they would hold up as a daily driver set on 6/5 for road smoothness and longevity.
You primarily use it for a weekend warrior and out off roading?
