    Nice, so you don't have to run spacers that's good to hear! Pinch weld hammering ? Cmc ? Thanks from commenting

    Body pinch weld right being the wheel well on the lower 2" need to be hammered flat (Seam just out side the mount in the picture). CMC is a cab mount chop that you cut back and weld in a plate to give you more room when stuffing the tire.

    I agree. What was the decision to scrap Bilstein on the Pros? I had a TRD Baja and the Bilstein suspension was excellent (6112s front/5160s rear), so much so that like others here I'm installing them on my 17 TRD OR. It could just have been aggressive marketing on FOX's part. Having said that, I have used Fox shocks and forks on my mtn bikes for a decade (raced in my 40s and 50s). Their quality is xlnt. Seems, however, there are already some leakage issues on the Fox shocks, although probably just growing pains..

    See my quote on Fox mtn bike shocks. For mtn biking we set the "sag" at about 20% of travel. That's essentially same as "preload" on truck systems. If you actually use your vehicle off-road, you need as much travel as possible, all things being equal. So maxing out the lift could be self-defeating unless you just ride around town. Then there is the sidehill issue. If you've been around four-wheeling long enough you've seen high overly lifted trucks eat it on a sidehill. Makes for fun images though.

    Depends on what you want. I drive primarily on the street and go wheeling every once in a while. I wanted a firmer, less boaty ride on the street while having good off road manners. Digressive valving was the way to go for me.

    If you want a soft but boaty ride on the street but firmer, harder dampening on faster stuff on the trails then a progressive shock like fox will work for you.

    If you remove the overload it will be a lot better.

    Beautiful looking truck. What is the difference in your suspension setup vs. what Toyota provides on the TRD Pro? I believe they have TRD-tuned off-road suspension with 2.5-in. FOX Internal Bypass
    shocks with rear remote reservoirs and TRD-tuned front coil springs and rear leaf springs?

    The reason I asked is I just bought a DC TRD Off-road and I am having the dealer install the TRD Pro suspension package. I would like to fit 285's under it, but am worried that I am not going to get enough lift. I am thinking I might need to go your direction.

    I have a 08 fj 4wd and I am thinking of installing the shocks/coil from a trd off rd 2017 Tacoma...
    I do have a two in. spacer on the fj with the stock shocks and coils now...
    The Tacoma shocks seem to have a 1in spacer on it...
    has any one done this install or seen it or any advise ?
