Bridgestone Dueler Rev02 or Yokohama Geolandar AT-S tires

I need your opinion on which tire to go with. On the ratings the are both pretty close. I am looking for a tire that does good on the rain and snow. Since this is my primary ride for the family. I also like to take the kids to do some light off-raoding as well. I have a 3" lift and planning on going with 265/70R17

I don't know which one to tell you but I have the duelers (i don't think mine are the revos... all they say on the side is dueler A/T)

They are an OK tires, my biggest thing I like about em is Im bout to pass 60k on them.. so they definatly lasted a while.

 

For the money the Yokohama's are a great bargain. Had em on my F150 Supercrew 4x for the last several years.
Very good tire for casual offroad. Works well on the street. Quiet ride. Handles good in light snow and ice conditions. Living in the Northwest I can say it's definitely great in the rain.
Way, Way cheaper than the Bridgestones.

The bridgestones are pricey but in my mind they're worth every penny. I drove to DC and back in that epic blizzard and hardly had to use my 4wd. I've definitely seen a little decline in gas mileage but thats to be expected with a more aggressive tread than the crappy stock dunlops.

 

You are rigt Alex and Koruptaco Bridgestone is a better tire as you said to and according to tiretrak too. Yokohama is not to far either in rating. But when it comes to family safety , there is no price on safety.

I have not bought my tires yet. I hope I can get more reviews and comments from my tacoma brothers and sisters.

I have had both sets of these tires on my Tacomas. I had the Yokohamas on my 06 Prerunner. I thought they were an OK set of tires. When I traded the truck in and got my 09, I put a set of Duelers on it. From my point of view, what a huge difference. The truck just seems to be more "sure footed" as I call it. Rain, ice, snow, dry pavement is never a problem for my Duelers. Not bashing the Yokohamas, just saying I much prefer the Bridgestones.

 

The first thing I did to my truck when I got it was put a set of Revo's on it. The Revo 2's are slightly different, but either way it is an INSANELY AWESOME TIRE! I have had these in snow, sleet, hail, mud, anything, you name it. They are super quiet, last a long time, and have incredible traction. They handle just as good, if not better, in the rain as they do in the dry. If you get these, you will not be disappointed. They are awesome tires. BUY THEM!!!

 

I did quite a bit of research and put these Revo 2's on my wife's daily driver. We take it trail riding on our weekends but the big difference for her is the safety she feels on our WET! Oregon Coast roads. We have hit standing water on the highway at freeway speeds and the tires cut like a knife.

BTW, the size is stated in the photo, but we put 245 75r 17 on the stock height TRD 4x4 Sport. No rub and looks great.

Thank you everyone for for your responds. It seems Revos2 is the way to go.

Now, the dealer tells me to go with a Passenger tire over an LT tire. That the passenger tire does better handling in rain, snow and/or ice conditions.

I do light offroading on fire trails and once in a great while go over sharp rocks.

I carry 2 sea-doos once or twice a month, and take stuff to Mexico's orphanages (clothes and sometimes furniture. I am putting a 5ft fence around my property and once a week I am getting cider blocks for the fence.

Do you guys thinks that passanger tires can handle the weight loads and light off roading?
Please let me know.

My Revo 2s are going on Thursday. What kind of price are you getting? I'm getting 265/70/17 4 tires plus alignment (just lifted 3-20) for $760.00. I am located in Omaha.

 

thats a normal price, but at the time i bought mine (thanksgiving weekend 09), discount tire had a coupon for $100 off a set of 4. so after the mail-in rebate, i paid 676 OTD. i keep gettin emails from them about the same deal going on so check out your local shop and if you can hold out a little longer, wait for this deal to come around. i love my revo 2's and the 265/70/17s fill up the wheel well really nicely, the truck looks so good with 'em. just make sure to air 'em up. when i ran 32 psi, my mileage dropped to 16-17mpgs. i have 'em up to 37-39 psi and just got 19mpgs with 70% city driving on the last tank. and the tires wander less in the grooves in the highway at the higher psi.

 

Correct on the P rating. I should have included that tid bit. For TACO-typical loads P rating is fine. My wife's rig is typicaly loaded with 500-600lbs of prospecting gear in a canopy, and we also haul a 2500lb Aliner Ease off road to our prospecting sites. Even my tire-shop buds who are avid off roaders said P rating on these rigs is usually the way to go.

 

I had the Revos on an F150 and loved them... great tire in all conditions... not so much an offroad tire but as long as it didnt get crazy they should do fine.

My Revo 2's just arrived from Tire Rack today. Got the 265/75/16's. I put them on tomorrow along with the TRD Off-road rims I bought back in February. Can't wait!

 

They lowest that I found the REVO 2 was at $180 (plus tax) + $16 for mounting/balancing per tire at Costco. The lowest Yokohama Geolander A/T-S was at $140 out the door tax, mounting and balancing at a local tire shop.

i will check again at firestone to see if they got the deal going on and show them the pricing on the yokohamas. Hopefully they can give me a great deal.

I got my 265/75/16's at $146 a piece from Tire Rack. Delivered for a total of $661.60. Awesome deal!

 

firestone will match tire racks prices, the before shipping price. the shipping and sales tax kind of wash each other out. another site i found that is cheaper than
tire rack, is tireteam.com i am going to see if firestone will match their price when i get my tires in a month or so. i have always bought my tires there, and they always come way off their price.

 

We paid ~$160ea at a Firestone dealer in October 09. Now that my local Costco has the Revo 2 A/Ts (a bit more aggressive tread) we will look forward to replacing the ones we have in XX,XXX miles : ) Happy Trails all the way with the ones we already have!

 

Getting the Revo 2s installed tomorrow. I will post pics soon.
