Hi, I just joined. I own a '98 4Runner and want to buy a Tacoma.

I'm curious as to the exact details of the Nightvision Mirror Upgrade.

Did they drop it for 2009?

I'm not sure - could be the same thing...

For 2008 they list the Nightvision option and for 2009 an
"Auto Dimming Inside Mirror" is a part of the packages.

The Nightvision option is $269 so I was hoping for
something a little more than just the inside mirror...

In Texas, "Night vision" means "Head lights". :D

I try to stay off the roads after dark around here.

Studies have shown that everybody is drunk...

"Hey y'all - hold my beer and watch this!"

Not for sure; but that is probably the name for the GST port/dealer add on auto dimming mirror, and now that it it is standard for 09, it is rendered obsolete.

That would be cool - I'm trying to decide between 2008/2009 and that helps...

    Thanks!

    For the 2008 models....

Don't get the auto dimming mirror. I think its a waste....

I bought a used auto-dimming mirrow with homelink off ebay for much less.

Ah, I did a search on "homelink" and got a lot more hits.

A 2008 should be pretty cheap so that sounds good.

    Thanks!

    Ha! That's pretty pleasing...

Most of the ones around here don't have it so it probably ain't gonna happen...

I've done enough research and I'm heading to the dealers tomorrow to test drive.

I got the Fighting Chance stuff (thanks to this forum) and will use it.

    Thanks for the reply!
