@ItsRichieRich Double axle trailer amd brake controller would really help. Power isnt an issue, its slowing down and balance that is

That's what I'm curious about. I think I'll be alright if I find a quality trailer that is sturdy.

Oh I'm positive the drive will suck, but my dad recently purchased a 1st gen. 4x4, and he's already mentioned going together on off roading trips, and taking the trailer. But of course i would get stuck hauling it..

I don't think my truck has a "overdrive" button unless it's called something else.

When the shifter is in "D" you use all 5 gears. 5th gear is overdrive, so pop the shifter to the left so it's in "4" and leave it there. Keeps you out of 5th (overdrive). The gears aren't strong enough in 5th to handle towing weight.

    I'll double check. Usually there's a button correct? I just don't remember seeing it. Otherwise it's 4, 3, 2 and 1.

Used to be a button, now it's the gear shift. Should be able to go from park, neutral, drive, move to the left for 4th, down for 3rd, down for 2nd, and a little move down and to the right for 1st. That's how it was in my 07.

Copy that. So everyday driving and light towing (500lbs), stay in D. Anything heavier, go to 4th.
