    35s don't fit

Like I said, not really an issue for me, and the pros far outweigh the few cons. I just like the idea of having a mobile camp that can be dropped off at a whim! Sometimes I get all set up and then think "shoot I forgot to go cut/collect some fire wood"

It might be cool to have the tire mounted to the front of the flat deck, with an inset in the canopy with a door, so the canopy slides around the spare, and you can access it via it's own door. Not ready or for everybody though, plus you lose that eaf look of having your spare on the back :p

Funny you say that because that was one of my thoughts but you would sacrifice so much interior room for that ability. It could work out to where upfront could be an individual section of half tire storage and the other half caged for a dog if wanted or even just an area to put firewood/messy stuff separate. Even still I'd prefer to have the tire out back to maximize your canopy size

In the future something like that could be worked out but right now I plan to offer something very basic and something with an interior build out as I really don't know where this will end up going

Exactly, I would do the same thing if I were you. Just a simple design that people can build out how they see fit.

I know you short box guys need to save as much space as possible, but with the long box, I wouldn't mind keeping the tire inside (what I'm doing now) and keep my truck as short as possible.

Yeah with a long bed I can understand but to give up that much space on a short bed would suck

With the ute, you can change the spare tire mount and raise it. I have a 35 under the bed and it doesn't hang lower than a stock spare. Won't work for 37's tho...

It looks like most utes have outward facing setups vs. 4wc/ Flippac/ Habitat setups with a rear door. I tried to figure out how to make mine an inside/ outside setup and decided that it wouldn't work for me. For your setup, it would be cool if a kitchen setup could be swiveled around, like a hidden bookcase door in scooby doo, so it could face either direction. It would have to slide out then swivel. Or just unbolt it and face it outward for summer and inward for winter. Leave a gap near the back so you could walk around the cabinet for a side entry. Just an idea for a future setup...

That's the beauty of canopies. You have this huge amount of space that you can do anything you want in. Friends in AU have a full service kitchen and shower arrangement on one side and storage boxes on the other. When the weather is rough they will pull a few of their weatherproof boxes down and sleep in the canopy. Hang some midgie mesh from the canopy door and you're set.

Never thought about raising the mount up! That would be cool as well.

For the inward/outward setup, you could make the whole kitchen swivel from one end, so that it would be facing inwards when all closed, then swivel out and form a big L, with your truck as the "|" and the kitchen as the "_". (terrible attempt at visual description). That would also leave you with a massive amount of counter space which would be very welcome! I dunno if that makes any sense.

Just my fucking luck, drilling a hole for the new transmission cooler and right into the AC condenser. Upgrade one thing, break one thing. Trying my luck with some marine JBweld by plugging the weld. Found some hit or miss information online trying to plug an AC system. Hopefully this shit works and I don't have to buy a whole new condenser, doesn't help that it's humid as fuck and 100deg

If it was me, I'd most likely have chipped the fan blade behind the whole pile.

If any one has a lead on a condenser it would be greatly appreciated. The couple of pick and pulls around me don't have any tacomas so I am out of luck for local, would prefer oem before I buy a aftermarket one

Chandler, do you have a pic for the driver side of your tray/canopy? Just wanted to see how the gas filler tube will mount.

Thats to be determined, I left the space blank so I could play around with a couple of different ways before I commit.

Some people use wire to hold up the filler neck, some use a bracket, some use a aftermarket filler, and some graft the oem fill door area

So I have plenty of options. I am just going to copy the section where it will go and play with a couple of different ways until I am happy and willing to modify the area where it will end up going.

New condenser installed, Ill try to get a write up since I took some pictures of the process. Probably one of adding an extra transmission cooler as well

Gotcha, I was randomly looking at other setups today but most of them were long beds. Even they didn't look like it had much space for the filler.

This wasn't too bad. I read about issues with mounting it too low. It's hard to fill- up and some guys have to hold the nozzle or carry a 4"x4" to prop up that side. There is also a vent around the side of the nozzle. If you plug it, CEL codes. If water gets in and goes into the canister, then freezes, an expensive solenoid could be damaged. I read all this while deciding where the filler would go.

I cut the metal overflow tube and replaced it with rubber fuel line. Couldn't get the right angle without doing that. Also bent the mounting bracket and adjusted the collar on the fill tube. Seems pretty solid so far and it might be a little higher than stock now.

Good to know about the vent
You have a picture of the cap off?

I don't have a pic and the truck is at home. I can take one tonight.

If you take the cap off, you can see curved slots around the outside of the filler hole. I believe those are the vents.

Found the source of this info. It was a pump that can get ruined, not a solenoid btw. Posts #22 & #29.

You know how sometimes you keep things under wrap because you want to give someone the benefit of the doubt and make things right? Even if making it right means I'll never use their product again

Guess I can just chalk it up to a bad purchase, simple as that
