True but look at the 5.3 vortec, 5.4 triton, the 8.3 liter from the Dodge Viper, lots of big motors are slower than a snail. Slapping a massive motor in something doesn't mean insane speed.

Also the lsx has almost twice the displacement of a 3.7 the point nowadays is to make more efficient horsepower per liter. Look at all the craptastic motors the Americans have produced. The old 350 was a good sized motor that they put in everything but it made less than 200 horse. Very inefficient.

I still can't believe people provide this much BS when it comes to power mods.

Those big blocks make effortless power, any speed, any gear, any rpm. Power under the curve. Try it, it's called torque.

oh yeah i 100 percent agree big block v8s are a time of the past. turboed sixxers and 4 bangers that are pushing 500hp while doing 23mpg is no joke but im sure not going to swap a ecoboost into my 56 chevy anytime soon

Actually surprising some people manage to squeeze out 15mpg's from those engines. I imagine in a relatively light for the application Tacoma you could get a little more. Which then is sad as well because some of us can't get that with our 4.0's and big tires.

Also guys, I wasn't serious when I proposed the idea of this guy actually doing a 572 swap...
