What noises are normal for a six speed trans?

For those of you that have a six speed, does yours make a noticeable noise in neutral with clutch engaged (pedal up)? I have read all the other six speed threads and I know the throw out bearing issue has been beat to death! This is a whine, not a squeak. The sound goes away when I push in the clutch all the way but light pedal pressure only has no effect.

My mechanic noticed the noise on his own without me saying anything. He's a Toyota specialist and says if this were a first generation truck with a five speed he would be looking at possibly changing the input bearing, but he's not sure what's normal on the six speed trans. Dealer says it "appears normal, but return to recheck in a few months". Powertrain warranty is up in December, I would appreciate others' thoughts on this.

    Thanks

I never hear anything. =/ My exhaust drowns it out. If that doesn't do it, the radio will.

You think it is a problem? Or just a normal noise? Or don't know and just trying to find out?

Is there a thread about the throw out bearing that causes the squeek? It drives me nuts, and the slightest bit of pressure on the clutch causes it to go away. Is there a simple/cheap way to fix it? I'm not very mechanically inclined.

you can try and rig something up so that your clutch doesnt de press completely, like some sort of block above the pedal

Don't know if it's normal, just bought the truck and of course I did not hear it while test driving.

No rattles on mine. My old 86 4x4 would rattle over bumps if I did not keep the driveshafts greased.
