These conversations and other assorted daily events remind me to be thankful for my 1.6-mile commute on residential surface streets

 

Actually, my favorite now is HOV lanes. People have no fucking clue.

Gets on freeway, light traffic, immediately changes 5 lanes into HOV and goes 65 to build up a logjam and everyone passing them on the right...and the far right 3 lanes are all almost empty.

And then you get the people who can' use the HOV lane clogging up the next lane over, which if you are paying attention, IS NOW THE FUCKING FAST LANE. GTFO!

It's like fucking toddlers playing soccer.

I should have been born in Switzerland or Singapore, where the police shoot you for not using a turn signal.

If the speed limit is 55mph then drive that speed. I followed someone with Oregon plates into work the other day and he was barely doing 40. These are rural roads mind you so he had no one in front of him and cars stacked up behind. Polite thing to do is pull over and let us all get to work. I was pretty patient but after passing the fifth decent pullout I started high beaming him to no avail.

Honestly if you don't know the roads drive at whatever speed you need to but pull over if you a bunch of cars behind you! I do it all the time.

 

Gotta love that. Go OVER the speed limit, and you're speeding. But go UNDER the speed limit and you're impeding traffic. Y'all better set that cruise control for 65 and hope you do go up or down a hill

 

I'll be honest, I pass people on straightaway's going up frontage roads all the time in non passing lanes if they aren't going the speed limit. GTFO of my way, this isn't a peaceful summer drive, people have shit to do.

 

Seriously. I might have passed this jackass in a no passing area. Gave him a warm California single digit salute and blared my horn at him as I passed.

What gets me is I wouldn't have had to do that if he pulled the fuck over!

Downside I guess to living near a world wide tourist destination. I try to be patient with all the rent-a-rv's doing the same thing, headed out to Yosemite...

 

I'm usually cool on those roads, but come on, its 55 on the frontage road, you're doing 40 on the straight-aways. Oh look, you just passed 3 turnouts and a driveway, your ass is getting passed as soon as its clear. I really love when they honk and speed up...I'm still gonna win, and now they're angrier.
