Well shit. Finally rolled my Windows down after waiting 3 days for tint to cure, after I took it in next day after felt strip installs. And this is what I saw. Both sides. Super pissed. Called and said theyd "try" to do it over. Tried telling me it was common as the window goes in deep on the sides. Told them last time time it was perfect from a different place! Now I gotta wait to get it redone for a couple weeks. Sigh. Anyways.. Just had to rant..

Yeah they just did a crappy job. Who ever did your tinting doesn't know how to do his job. Looks like he didn't roll the window down some before cutting.

Actually it was a "her". And the owner I believe on top of that. And they had like 15 good reviews compared to others on Google whom only had 1 or 2 reviews, in the area. So I was quite surprised.. Oh well. At least she's offering to try it again. Woulda went to the other place I went to before, but they were backed up for a week. Really don't wanna take it back, but not gonna pay again.

Thank you! I've plasti dipepd them in the past, but that never fixed the streak I would get when rolling them down/up

Well it's been rainy here. And my Windows all fogged up. And noticed the passenger side window didn't really wipe clean any of the fog upon rolling it down and back up. Driver side did. So I rolled the passenger window down all the way and kinda smushed the felt strip in gently to try and 'bend' it in a little bit. And it helped. But Idk if that fixed it. But my suspicion is that our strips just don't seal all that great against the Windows to begin with. :(

Got my tint redone today too. Did a better job this time. Different guy there. Whom seemed like had a lot more experience. And checked with me each window to make sure it was acceptable. I think the owner lady was just not that experienced. Kinda weird.. Now gotta wait a couple days again to let it cure. Ugh. Still gotta replace the regulator and motor assembly on passenger side as it's getting a little weak(driver side was replaced already). Then ima call it all good. Not gonna worry about the sheeting. I do need to get some oem door handles too tho. But can't bring myself to pay that much. But would be better than going thru the cheapies every few months.

You probably should worry about that moisture barrier. You'd be surprised how much moisture is in the air and could get inside your door/cab.

Well it's been like that since I bought it years ago. And who knows how long before. Hasn't seemed to cause any issues. Except dust and stuff getting in there maybe and causing the regulator (among other mechanisms in there) to grime up quicker. But not as big a deal now as it was when I lived on a dirt road.

forgot to update ... I walked away for a while and got out of the heat and cooled down. Went back and checked the clip positions and they were all off by less than an inch. slid them around a bit and it snapped right in. Proceeded to take off the door panel and replace the interior strip also.

While I was at it, I sound proofed the door. Headed to drivers door sometime this week

Thanks to this forum for showing me how simple this was to fix. I found my trim parts on ebay for $25.00 each window. They were used but in excellent condition. The old ones popped right off with a pair of pliers and I had the new ones on in less than 30 minutes. Was hard looking at the old peeling ones and everyone who got in the passenger side would start to pick at it. Annoying. But so happy now.TRIM.jpg old trim.jpg
