Hello from Lake Anna Virginia

Hi all,
Figured I'd make my first post an introduction about what brought me here. I got my first pickup truck/ Taco about a month ago. Went with a 2011 extended cab super white pre runner. So this past weekend my wife and I went camping up in the Dolly Sods of West Virginia and were driving on some forest roads looking for dispersed sites. We ended up on Canaan loop road, and you know, it started out super chill and beautiful. Then we got to a little stream crossing and the terrain got much much more gnarly after that. Eventually got to these big boulders that I never should have gone down. Never doing anything like this before I start freaking out a little and walk up the trail to see about a 4 foot vertical climb. Had to turn around and try to go up the boulders I came down. Then a jeep came and once he learned I only had 2WD his face dropped and he insisted we'd be stuck as I thought so too. Well, the Taco thought otherwise and climbed out and over those boulders. That's the moment that I truly fell in love with my Tacoma. After all that it only suffered a minor ding in the rear bumper (which I may ask y'all tips on how to straighten that out) and some minor scratches. And now I'm here admiring all your tacomas and wanting a different bumper than the stock one. Sorry for the long intro, y'all. I'm looking forward to learning and sharing my Taco adventures with y'all.

Good morning from Culpeper there neighbor! We have a local thread and will be having a meet at Old House Vineyard next Friday. Others of us are into, or getting into campindg as well. There's a great off road camper dealer rt there in Orange we pick ours up tonight. Hell I'm rt up the rd from you. Let me know if your interested in the meetup next Friday as I'm getting a head count and if you want into the local thread let me know and I'll tag you in

 

That sounds awesome, definitely add me to the local thread. As for the meetup, lemme see what I've got on my plate. If I can I'll def make it. Yeah I randomly stumbled upon that camper dealer in orange last Friday, good luck with that camper and post some pics of it. I def want to make my Tacoma a camping beast.

 

Ill have some preliminary pics in my build and on the overlanding thread tonight I'll tag you into the local thread. It's been kinda uiet in there lately but I'm trying to get things going. The meet will be at Old House next Friday for music on the lawn. IDk if you've been there but they have their wine of course and a distillery with rum vodka, and tequila. It costs nothing to come and enjoy the live music and relax 6-9
