Cargo Cross Bars

Anyone here have these cross bars, which are available
here http://www.toyota.com/tacoma/accessories.html

I have Yakima racks and it looks like these might work well with those.

Not a problem I bought a set to hold a rack and a spare tire and broke them, You can fab some up, That ive seen on TTORA.

 

I have a set and have two Yakima trays on them.That's really the only load I've set on them but they come in really handy for keeping larger things from sliding around back there.One of my uses is that I butt my snowblower against one set right where my tonneau folds and use straps to the cleats.The nice thing about the bikes being up there is that below is still usable space.

squad314, saw your pics, looks good, but I was thinking of using them more for kayaks, canoes, so weight would probably be a problem.

 

I have them but could never get Toyota (or Yakima) to find the proper part numbers for extra mighty mounts. After years of doing business with Yakima I dropped them and went Thule. The Thule trays fit perfectly with no modifications or special adaptors. I use them for both bikes and skis.

As others have said.. they aren't rated for much though. 50# per cross bar so 100# evenly distributed. Seems stupid since the tie downs they are attached to are rated for 250# pull strength.

 

I have them and I place a THULE MOAB on them works great.

 

If you want to carry a kayak, just slap a couple of 2x4's all the way across the bed, and bolt them to those tie-downs in the rails. Weight will be carried on the sidewalls of the bed.

 

I'll have to swing over your way and check out your rig- But how did you attach the MOAB to those cross-members??

I'm thinking about relocating my spare tire to a basket and want to decide between getting the mounts to put them on the roof or across the bed.
