damn glad I held off until I got word from everyone... I'm thinking of the deaver expo pack and having them custom make a set... since I don't plan on a RTT I should be right around the 500lbs consistent

This, don't do the Dakar springs. You know I love my Deavers and am sad to see them go but I have seen nothing but complaints about the Dakar springs. All pro seems to be keeping people happy for the most part

Talk to @tubbsisland.. he has a custom set of Deavers springs, a variation of the u402 but designed to handle more weight. As far as I know, he's very happy with them and I can tell you that with his RTT and gear in the truck, his springs don't say much If at all

    Wait. 1k a leaf!!

Dakars are 1/4 that. What kind of issues do people have with dakars? Mine worked fine. No issues with 500-600 pounds in the bed. Rode a hell of a lot better than it does with these new springs.

$1k for the pair... bonus is they come with bushings lol... as much as I would like to get the dakars I am very hesitant to get them after their new version came out and they don't even know the exact specs/load handling of their leaf packs... not to mention the paint job is absolute garbage (see headstrongs thread) and to top it off they aren't making anymore sets of HD until the fall time frame, which to me means they found flaws in the new packs and are resolving the issues or they aren't rated to handle the 500+ lb loads like they advertised...

Leaf spring science is way to difficult, and for 1k a pack, I'd 4-ink that bitch and run some Coily Overs :bananadance:

If only someone would have been selling the good versions.

    :boink:

I remember reading about those now. And 1k for the pair isn't that much more. At first I thought you meant double that.

It's been a blast! Actual wheeling 20 minutes down the road! I don't have to travel so far anymore just to find a dirt road.

Man I'm surprised by all the dakars hate, I've had mine since January and really enjoyed them. With and without the AAL. Sad to see they've slipped like that :(

It's not that I hate mine. But I can't put anything in my truck. I don't even have a bumper yet or rtt. No way an AAL would fix my issues. Plus my buddy gas the same pack with 31s. I'm on 35s with the same weight and we sit at the same height. I technically should be 2 inches taller but mine sag

How weird, I have the opposite, my ass is up and my icon coils refuse to hold weight in the front. I have a RTT and can't wait for a full steel bumper just to drop the rear down...

If I had your situation I'd probably call it hate :)

That's how mine was too. With no weight I bet it had at least 4" lift. Fully loaded was taller than my new springs with no weight.

You want to talk about weak springs. Mine can't even really hold 200 pounds. And they ride like garbage too!

Not even close. If I load up everything for a trip I bet I'll only have a few inches of uptravel.

I'm actually really disappointed with the whole thing right now. So much spent and it's basically worse at all points. Well the front isn't worse yet. Once I add the bypasses I feel like that's going to be too stiff as well.

And not having bumpstops kind of scares me too.
