OP, take it to the GM dealer and see what happens if you try to trade. Worst that can happen is they offer you too little monies. Good luck!

There are about 10 more that around here (@smitty99) that need to man up and do the same as you.
Life is too short not to enjoy as much of it as possible, and that includes trucks.

I hear the shift sense is really making folks happy, and it baffles me to hear some one on TW say there is a lack of aftermarket support on the tacos. I see tons of shit for the 3rd gens all over TW. Just ask the wife's of the taco owners.

Depends where you are located I think. I bought my truck in AZ, but I live in SoCal. I paid ~32.5k for it, I just sold it to a local Toyota dealership for 31k. It was a 2016 TRD OR 4x4 Manual Trans w/ 22k miles on it.

You'll be happier OP, I'm happier with how my two "new to me" 2000 vehicles drive....

my choices at the time were a 2017 trd pro that was going to run me about 50 grand all in. a 2015 1500 ram sport for 22500, or a 2005 taco for 16000. chose the taco cause well dodges are money pits and 50 grand for a 1/4 is a little crazy imo.

Traded my 09 for 13.5 and walked out the door owing 21k for my 17.

And ya, it would have been a no go at 50k

What performance "shit" do you see "all over"? I would have been happy with a Diablo / Superchips / etc. type tuner to change shift points...

Before I bought my 2017, I was looking heavily for a used 2016-2017 Tacoma. I wanted a 3rd gen and had been in the practice of buying used vehicles to cut costs. The inventory was so low it was crazy. People love Tacomas and would pay waaaay more than what a dealer could give in trade. I guess unless you're worried about the recall issues. But I'd sell it to a private party and move on. It's worth the time and effort and you'll likely net 5 grand more than what a dealer would give.

After having two Audis (one old, one new), these Tacomas are a walk in the park, even with issues! Owning an Audi was akin to playing warning light roulette.

For what it's worth, truck has been solid so far, no issues whatsoever.

As a former advisor at an Audi dealer, this cracks me up. It is also spot on.

I agree. Try changing a multi function transmission switch on a 1997 Audi Avant, and you'd be ready to buy a Lada.

Resale is " strong" when there is a trade involved. I wonder what you would have got if you didnt buy a new truck from them, guaranteed it wouldnt be 32K.

...you wanted a chip? gross. Sounds like the shift sense would have been perfect for you. That being said there is a far more legitimate custom tune available from Orange Virus Tuning that can do whatever you want. All the bolt ons you could want are available. And Magnuson has a supercharger in the works. Nothing on the horizon? It's already here.

"Man up" is simply an expression meaning "to take action" instead of whining and complaining about something. You have taken it to the dealer numerous times. They have failed you. Toyota has failed you. You got the worst Toyota has to offer. Get rid of it.

Dude, I'm 55 years old. I have been an engineer for 30 years. I have been married to the same great lady for 34 years. We have raised two wonderful children. They didn't go to jail. They didn't get pregnant at 16. They both know they are a boy and girl and were never confused about their gender. They never used drugs. Daughter is now a RN in ICU and son has his BSME and finishing up his MBA. I also don't go on the internets to complain about any issues or problems. If I have problems with my truck, life or anything else, I take care of them. I am probably way beyond having to prove myself a man. I "manned up" a long time ago. What's your story.

I've had no issues with my TACO.
I am very thankful I have a new truck that I enjoy driving. I am truly blessed.

Yet you can't seem to move on and avoid trying to start a confrontation with me or anyone else with a poor opinion/experience on this truck. Tagging me in threads, responding to my threads with your disapprovals. You don't like my opinion, great we get it, move along. Welcome to my ignore list.
