Hi everyone. My a/c is stuck in defogger mode and the controls won't work on the panel. Anyone ever have this problem? I'm thinking it's the air mix servo? How hard is this to replace and is it expensive? Any help would be very helpful, thanks.

Here is where the servo is located. Replacement should be straightforward.

Have you popped out the control panel, completely disconnected it, and then reconnected it?

That'd be my first step. Then I'd start looking at more complicated and expensive solutions

You actually want to inspect the "Mode Control Servomotor", the air mix servo just mixes the hot and cold air from the heater core and evaporator.
When you pull it out, make sure the mode door moves freely in the box. Still might be something else though.
There is detailed testing for the servo to verify it is faulty.

If you haven't already checked, pull the knob off and make sure the nut didn't loosen.
