Nope. Only difference in 5th and 6th is 2100 or 2200rpm versus 1900. You could drive across the US in 5th. In fact, some people already have. And some of those were in 4th a lot of the time because they were moving and towing.

I use the ECT button a lot with mine. Like almost always. Most of my driving is around town city driving and the truck shifts into to high a gear too quickly. ECT holds the gears longer and it's much easier to control with the gas pedal.

I've only put 1200 miles on my truck so far and it is doing just fine. The few times I set the cruise at 75mph, it was definitely hunting too much. ECT doesn't lock 6th out on that situation so I just throw it over to S mode then kick it up to 5th. No more hunting.

LV2DV, I would throw some top plate spacers in your front and an add-a-leaf in the rear until your OE shocks bite the dust. You can run 265/75R16 in something aggressive like Duratracs and they well enough off road (minimal boulders). Then you can go all out for ICONs w/All Pro's new heavy duty expedition leafs.

Nice looking truck? Any chance you're along the I-81 corridor between VA and PA? I saw one just like this today when I was heading up to Carlisle with my Sky.

Based on the conversations I had with my dealership a lift can void the warranty. My understanding is that Toyota has an approved list of Lift Kits that won't affect your warranty. Our dealership here in Colorado is one of the better dealerships in the country for doing the aftermarket builds (they even have a build for a Rav 4 of all things the epitome of the Mall Crawler). They told me that if I did my lift through them everything (including the lift) would be covered under my warranty, both the factory, and extended.

Yep... Shift Sense Pro didn't help any @ 75mph (which pretty sure it wasn't meant to anyways from what I can tell)... I have zero clue though on where to even begin shopping for gears...

Errmmm, no. There's no such thing as "voiding the warranty". If you go in for warranty work and the dealer believes the issue is caused by aftermarket accessories, they can deny the work. It's totally at their discretion. For example, if your wheel bearing is going out, and you have 35" tires on there, there's a great chance it'll get denied. Now let's say your stereo headunit goes on the fritz, they'll replace it under warranty. Check out the Magnuson Moss warranty act. Pretty much says that a dealer has to prove the aftermarket accessory caused the failure of whatever you're trying to get fixed. HOWEVER, they can still deny warranty work on the spot, and you'd have to take them to court over the MM act to have them prove themselves. I have yet to see that happen on here, but people get denied warranty work all the time.

A few searches will give you a wealth of info but will come down to 4.56 or 4.88 depending on what you plan to do down the road. I don't believe they have 4.56 for 3rd gen yet so 4.88 would be your next best option.

You are being given bad information. If I were you I would challenge them to find something official from Toyota, in writing, that cites the Lift Height and its correlation to warranty. Hint: they won't be able to because nothing like this exists.

As soon as you modify the OEM components, you risk voiding the warranty coverage to those components and anything they relate to (functionality-wise) on the truck.

I see the question often "will lifting void my warranty" and the question is not being asked the correct way. Will it void your warranty in its entirety? No. Absolutely not. Will it void the warranty with respect to your suspension components on the vehicle? Most likely. Will it void the warranty for Steering components? Quite possibly. Will it void the warranty on some of your driveline components? Maybe. Would it void the warranty on your Stereo? No.

That makes sense. So I guess what my dealership essentially told me was that if I used a lift from their approved list and had them install it they would treat the aftermarket parts like factory parts. So everything is still covered under the warranty, even if it were caused by the aftermarket parts, like the instance you mentioned with the wheel bearing. What I would guess they are doing is they are covering Toyota parts under the factory warranty, and then if it is on the aftermarket parts it would fall under a separate warranty for that install.

Pretty much. Just be aware that I have never heard of an "approved list" in all the years I've spent on here, so that very well may be a localized thing warrantied by that specific dealer, but no other dealers. I'd just heavily advise you to do your homework, talk to a few dealers and make sure you get stuff in writing

No, we did the Leveling kit, dropped the Diff, with copper spacers and Bilstein shocks in the rear.
