@OVTune Thanks for putting up with all the BS. People have managed to detract from all your hard work.. keep it up!

 

The latest revision of this TSB has been out since last November, and unfortunately it will not resolve the described concern. (or at least it will not fix it beyond the short term learning phase)

 

I thought about that but wasnt sure if the original tune was based on something and if I reflashed would the dealership flash cause problems. I emailed to OV and sent the dealership flash, am waiting his reply. Im in no hurry for anything.

 

I just changed my ckp and flashed back to the tune. Will report @OVTune

 

Have a lot of work this weekend, planning to get to as many pending emails as possible.

Side topic, you guys want to see Toyotas amazingly intelligent tuning work on the LC500?

Is the top line after you guys tuned it?

 

I think red lines are one pull and green lines another for hp/tq? Not much change.

 

I changed the ckp sensor. The Maf is clean, It improved the idle and made it smoother. The stock tune felt really smooth. Flashed the OV alpha 1.01 back to it and it still has the stutter. I will put some miles towing with it this weekend. We will see how it does.

 

Can you pm me your name or order number I want to see what ECU version you have.

We did our development on 04B03. I really want to pin point this stutter.


Also, anyone near Anaheim with a manual transmission truck up for a free dyno tune next friday

 

@OVTune Once you have completed 1.02, are you going to just mass email it out to everyone? Also, what is going on with the data logging? How are you going to look at data from all of our trucks since there are so many of us now?

 

yes once 1.02 is out everyone will have the option to update for free.

I should hear from my developer tonight, datalogger release is expected this weekend. Everyone is still on 1.01 at the moment

What is a datalogger?

 

Well I have the 1.01 tune and loaded up the truck for our first big trip into the mountains. By loaded up I mean RTT, bed rack, all camping gear, water tanks, propane tank and what not. Truck has steel sliders, skids trilogy, and hc rear bumper with swing out. It's heavy AF! The tune really helped on the 210 mile journey to Dallas from Austin. It was nearly all interstate with some exiting to skip traffic (waze rules for the road). I was able to maintain speed and pass pretty easily. Cruise control was used a bunch and it hardly had to downshift. I scored a solid 16.8 mpg on the drive and I'll take that any day when fully loaded.

After stopping at Buccees (also bonkers) I used the ETC button for an uphill onramp onto 75mph interstate traffic. When it gets to about 2800 rpm, the butt dyno registers a nice pull to the rear of the truck and the it just zooms right to speed. The limits on Texas interstates range from 70 to 85. Monday we leave for the mountains and I'll hit a stretch of interstate with 80 and 85 limit and we shall see what the difference is. After 75mph, i notice a decrease in MPG especially if there is a headwind.

After 2-3 tanks on the tune, my biggest gripe is the shift from 3rd to 4th. I feel it's too early and causes you to drop into 4th at a low rpm and out of the powerband quite a bit. This is on regular street driving and not flooring it or anything. It short shifts into 4th and there is just no power there and so you are forced to push the skinny peddle down usually resulting in a downshift.

I'm looking forward to 1.02 as I think tune has a bright future. Thanks for all the effort @OVTune , it's made a huge difference for me.

 

will be confirmed tomorrow but 99% sure the stutter has been found and solution has been made. it is fixable via reflash

Got a test file overnight. Flashing as we speak and I have to do some driving around today. Will report back around 12EST.

 

Is this specific to manual?

 

No Idea. As Matt said he is working on the stuttering issue. I'll be back later to report.
