Oh no! This is not what I want to hear. This is probably not what you want to hear right now, but please give Hobo Hammocks a chance to make it right. I am confident they will take care of you. All of their hammocks have a lifetime warranty.

Also do you happen to have any pictures of how you had the hammock set up before you got in and the netting ripped? They only thing I can imagine is that everything was stretched very tight without any weight in the hammock, so when you got in there was no room to give for your weight.

Regardless though please keep me updated on how this gets resolved and please let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I'm sorry to hear you are having a bad experience.

Yea I'm sorry for the that rant, it was raining and middle of the night and I was half asleep... I think it may have been too tight... 1st time ever using one so it's prob the case... other than that I loved it! Again I'm really sorry for the anger rant.

No worries man. I know I would be very frustrated if I was in your shoes. Please do keep me updated though on how things get resolved.

For those of you who are interested in what @Blackout14 was describing above, this is what it means to have a "diagonal lay" in your hammock.
    upload_2017-7-27_8-13-13.jpg

The angle at which you lay is exaggerated in this picture, but it is just to get the idea across. It is very difficult to get a diagonal lay if your hammock is hung very tightly. You can see in my picture below how much "sag" or "droop" is in the hammock. I like to use a paracord ridge line with my hammock because I find that it makes it much easier to hang the hammock and still maintain a good amount of sag. They say a good rule of thumb for a ridge line is to be about 83% of the overall hammock length. I used a 100" ridge line, but you may feel more comfortable with one a little shorter (creates more sag) or longer (allows for less sag). Those of you with mosquito net hammocks will probably want to use a separate line for a ridge line than you use to suspend the mosquito netting. This is because the ridge line becomes very tight when there is weight in the hammock.

You can also kind of see that I am using the "diagonal lay" in the picture below. This allows you to lay much more flat and comfortably and less like a banana.

As of right now I have no plans for another GB only because you are the first person to express interest since this one ended. If you're just looking for a single hammock I have a link to their site and coupon code in my signature (or in the OP of this thread) for $10 off. That comes out to about 14-17% off a single hammock depending on which one you choose.

Try a ridge line. It makes it easier to hang the hammock loose. Read my post a few above, it has good info.

My issue is I don't really have a place to hang it with enough clearance off the ground. I'll try playing with it more tomorrow.
