I know! Its in such an awkward spot to make room for that useless cup holder. This is centered, much more comfortable/secure, and bigger.

So you're definitely sending those F5s to OMF and having them beadlocked, right? :stirthepot:

I might in the future but not right away. Depends on funds after everything currently planned is on the truck. Going to have some bigger payments coming up so we'll see

I realize you don't care what I say. But as a guy who has dumped absurd amounts of fun coupons in all of my builds, there are two things I regret more than anything.

    1) Not doing heimed uppers
    2) Not getting beadlocks sooner.

    Take it how you want.

You think beadlocks are that worth the hassle of mounting/balancing yourself? Main reason I originally thought to put it off is just simply haven't needed to go that low of air pressure and need them. In the rocks i've been fine at 10psi and in the snow I shouldn't have a problem with going down to 3psi as I did with the taco.

As for heims Im putting in ballistic joints instead. Much quieter and last longer, but also much more expensive.

Mounting is not hard at all. The last 4 I did were less than 30 min/tire. And I get to drink beer and hang out in the garage. I don't consider that a hassle.
I had the same mentality as you...until I got beadlocks.

Hmmm.. just that much better traction at very low pressure or what else makes them worth it? I do value your opinion

Brian you're a smart guy. You have a pretty good idea of dollar per value.
I wouldn't mention it if it was just "meh." Hell I didn't even buy the beadlocks. They came on my truck when I bought it, so it's not like I'm trying to justify a purchase.

I have never owned beadlocks on any of my rigs, not because of legality or any bullshit like that, simply because of the cost honestly. I would love a set of Hutchs but the cost is even more prohibitive than single beadlocks. As far as what makes me want them, other than the aforementioned, i have had numerous instances with each one of my trucks from my early Bronco all the way through all my Toyotas and been in situations where i was on a line and had to alter said line because the obvious pressure on the tire and it being pulled/pressed away from the bead. Losing a bead on the trail can be more than a nuisance. I witnessed a rollover that is burned into my brain of a guy on a steep downhill ledge with a hard left hander at the bottom, when dude went full lock to make the turn all the weight was on the right front as the truck was coming down the ledge the perfect storm happened and that right front bead let go. The precarious position he was in didnt get better as he lost the right front and the truck ended up going over on that corner, pirouette style. It was wild as shit and something i think about often. Beadlocks, yeah, i think they are worth it. especially on a beast rig like you're building.

This right here. You and I have both had pretty good luck airing down way too far, but that luck isn't going to last forever. At the least if you lose a bead on rock you have a good chance of destroying a wheel.

The shit you find when you take the seats out.. tampons, pads, countless straws/coins/wrappers/more brownie chunks etc.. oh the joys of buying a used vehicle.

Anyway it's ready for the Corbeaus Tuesday and got it ready for roll on monstaliner. I'll probably ad some more over spray protection but got the exact line down. Just need to sand, alcohol wipe down and paint
