Getting a smog check. What are my odds they'll overlook the deckplate?

The 1st time I had a drill sergeant smog tech who noticed my deck plate mod and I made sure to have the lid part of it screwed on. He said I shouldn't let this pass. But you're lucky this time. I'm gonna let it go. Shop must've needed the money.
The next time I took it to a shop out of the way where English was a 2nd language and the 2 techs just looked at it and thought it was pretty cool. Ran the test and sent me on my way!
Just depends on the shop. Good luck!

As soon as I posted that, the tech walked in and said, "Ok. You passed. You're all set."

I didn't say jack about the deckplate.

I might have missed any more replies but I need somewhere to get my truck aligned.

I've called every shop Goodyear recommended. All of them said my truck is too wide.

I tried doing it myself and failed. Well more like gave up about 30 minutes in after totally effing it up.

Actually I don't get why these places are saying it's too wide. It's about the same as a raptor. Maybe I'll try the ford dealer. :bananadead:

If you're up for a drive then El Cerrito Tire in Albany always aligned my LT 4Runner. No idea if their good alignment tech is still there though. Haven't been there in 2 years or so.
