Ice Horse's 1998 Tacoma Long Travel/Hybrid Project

Pictures! We worked hard with 3D Offroad the night before to get the light rack on. We have plans to make the mounting a lot cooler soon, just tacked it on for now. Had a great time at the Toytec event!

90% of the stuff on the truck you can get through Toytec. Tires, wheels, Kings, Total Chaos etc. The company name is "Toytec Lifts", so not necessarily referring to it having their branded lift.

Unfortunately the Tundra isn't supercharged we wish it was. They don't make them for them anymore. It's fine hauling around stuff, we tow the crawler all the time. It's not the fastest or the greatest on mileage but it does it lol. We have overload springs but it really needs bags.

 

Seems like it would be rough in the mountains. Magnusson started selling all the TRD superchargers just with their name instead of TRD

 

I take that back, they don't make on for the 4.7L... wierd

 

I wonder if the URD 4.7L 4runner supercharger kit would work to a 4.7L Tundra. I been wanting to buy a 1sr geb Tundra for a while and I really wanted to supercharge it lol

 

Yep they straight up don't make it at all anymore lol. We go up Vail Pass at like 30mph lol. It tows, just not fast lol.

More flexiness. This time with added weight of stuff I plan to put back there. Measuring for shocks. I'm mad I didn't take a pic of it with the prerunner stance lol. I still need to trim a bunch too.

 

That bumper looks good. Are those tails off your other taco or did you buy a matching set?

 

Thanks! Yes those are the ones off my other one. The drivers side one had a ground wire that broke and it's not really fixable. So since I daily drive the blue one, I stole the tails off the black one for now. Then put the clears on the black one so it didn't look weird lol. Been trying to find another stock set in the junkyard, but it's always the first thing to go if its intact.

 

Shit I'd have offered mine if I still had em. I gave em away to another member already tho. I bet you can find someone on here willing to part with their stock set for cheap if not free

 

Darn! lol I was thinking about getting some nice LED ones for my blue one, but that's money I could be putting into the black truck currently.

Thanks <3 I feel like a bad parent because it needs cleaning, armor repainted, inside cleaned up. The plan is when I get the black drive to a point I can daily drive it, I'll put the blue one under the knife so make it all pretty again. I found all the rust prone problem areas on the black one so now I know where to go on the blue one. Put some little drain holes in the frame where the water gets trapped. So I'll take it apart and fix it.

 

Don't worry I'm not dead. Still waiting on my rear Kings to come in. But we did swap out my doors to much better ones. Still need to install the inner panels. They're from an 01-04 Tacoma so trying to get it back to a 98 haha.
