After the dealership said they fixed my shudder with a transmission update, only to get my ecu flashed back to stock, and the shudder is still there I'm going to be very happy camper if this tune fixes it. I will happily tell the other people I know with 3rd gens to get the tune.

Did you have ovtune installed and then took it to the dealer and let them reflash it back to stock?

Yep, but they did it because I didn't have the latest firmware loaded. Did they ask if I did anything? Nope. Was all this under warranty? Yep

I took some logs and sent them to Matt. I am sure he will be back with his findings at some point.

I believe he does have the issue fixed. I was not able to reproduce the stuttering in the 60 miles or so I drove this morning. I tried my best and could not get the issue to appear. This was all mixed driving and I purposely spent as much time as possible in the problem area.

I will be canceling my service appointment and will hold off on replacing my crank sensor for now but keep it as a spare just in case.

Just took a 600 mile round trip with my URD SpecU exhaust and Alpha 1.01 tune which I flashed at 530 AM before the trip. Tune is noticeable between 2500-3500 rpms. Cruising at 80 mph I achieved 19 mph for the trip. Not bad loaded with coolers and gear. The exhaust was unbearable for the wife. I agree, I can only turn the music up so loud. Will wait for v1.02 which accounts for the SpecU exhaust and upcoming transmission flash.

FWIW, mine fluttered stock with 87 gas. Almost like a miss. Higher octane fuel helped. No issues thus far with the tune. Better gas mileage if I can drive normally, but what's the fun in that. I am also on larger tires and coilovers and getting 19+ mpg with mixed driving conditions.

If you haven't yet, try dynamat. I was able to reduce my volume by 5 or so with just the doors. I haven't done the floors yet, we'll see how they help. It's worth doing.

Undercoating helps with exhaust noise tremendously, provided you use either 3m professional rubberized undercoat or some other similar quality undercoat product. I used 8 cans and covered the underside of the cab with two good thick coats. Took me, my buddy, and my girlfriend 2 hours to tape up, spray, and then remove the masking. Most of your time will be taping because the spraying is kinda fun just make sure to get respirators and goggles! Those were essential!

Didnt even think of that! I don't know if I feel like doing that much work. It's not a deal breaker for me yet. Check back in 2 years when I have hearing issues.

Matt has not said yet. He definitely did find the issue which is fantastic though. I am sure he will be back at some point to explain.

I had my truck to the dealer for this. Hooked up my torque obd app and found numerous misfires on multiple cylinders but never enough to cause a CEL. Never found the root cause but anecdotally found that shit gasoline seemed to exacerbate the issue.

I don't have the part number, but I was thinking the dealership may of had old recalled stock. Because how often does the dealer really sell these crank sensors in new trucks. I thought the new sensor would have fixed the issue.

I don't think it would be legal (and it would definitely be wrong) for the dealership to install anything but the part laid out in the CKP recall documents. I was just curious as to what was showing on your repair invoice.
Of course, you may also have something else causing problems.

    Good luck man,

    Frank
