    Sure
If you like like it/find it useful it's a keeper. But that's a no go for me.

It doesn't look that bad on black and MGM tacomas. The black deflector blends in really well on these colors.

I ve always put them on my vehicles. It helps with rock chips and I like their look.

I commute 50 miles a day....2/3 highway. It saves my hood I'm sure. I still have bugs on the windshield though. Probably not nearly as many as without it.

I have the AVS. Makes no contact with the hood at all.

Bug deflectors are about a half a step down from front end protective bras.

Not sure how they mount on 3rd gen but half the time you are just trading off rock chips for wear on the paint from the deflector itself. But I'd think most current versions are a little better about how they mount.

And unless you live in a bug infested swamp I don't see a benefit of the deflector over wipers/wiper fluid.

My AVS doesn't touch the hood at all.

Mine does not touch any part of the top or front of the hood in any way. All attaches to existing holes on the underside of the hood.

OP, glad you started this thread. I'm trying to decide whether or not to install one. Leaning more toward the WeatherTech low profile model, but I think it uses double sided tape.

Underneath the leading edge. Has 3 rubber pylons underneath over the hood for support. On the black with the busy hood, it's very non-intrusive

Mine is the weathertech regular. Wanted a little extra protection for the bulge in the hood...lol

Any fading issues? I had a factory one on my JK and the thing started to fade/haze after a few years.

IMO, All bug defectors look daft on a 3rd gen due to the paint on the grill area / infront of the deflector. But your opinion is the only one that counts on your truck. If you like it, leave it.
Bug defectors are great for stopping stone chips on the hood, but since there is a ton of paint under the hood on a 3rd gen I personally see no need for them.

That's why I have clear film over the entire painted areas on the grill.

Good cause the old ones were sacks of shit that rubbed your paint off.

some of the 2nd gen ones were the same way.

I liked mine of my '02 Tacoma. On my white '16, I just cant find any appeal. On this truck shown by the OP, ops fine. Just fine. The truck is dark. The bug deflector blends in.
