Were they torn sidewalls? or just flats?

 

Both sidewalls... F*cking roadside boulders and wide trucks...

 

it was the sidewall on the one I lost. although for how soft those are I'm surprised it wasn't more than the one. I also just tore a sidewall on my E ko2. but I think that was more caused by losing the valve stem first

 

Yeah cooper was a load e as well.

 

Yeah, I've punctured a sidewall following Monte too. But not sure I can blame him for my mistake.

I have said this several times before... The driver has a huge role in this process. In my case, no sidewall would have held up to the abuse I put that side wall thru.

 

I'm not sure I fully agree with that though. I had the C(?) rated Duratracs and never had a single issue of the sidewall problems that people seem to complain about on the normal Duratracs.

 

I could be talking out my ass here..


But it seems most people (at least on this site) seem to not like the duratracs due to weak sidewalls. I had the tougher rated (C?) sidewalls on the ones I had, and I never had an issue with mine or punctures.

Point i am making is perhaps the higher rated ones do make a difference.

Was a good time. Even though we didn't even drive the trail. By the time we were ready there was so much traffic on the switchbacks we couldn't set off and then it started raining real hard..i wasn't about to do it in the rain. Then we got two flats!

 

Also, i still think the ST Maxx is the best AT you can get right now. Despite todays incident.

 

definitely. and just the situation of how rocks lay get changed as they are passed over. part of the games to expect tire punctures.

discount tire direct doesn't pro-rate tires if you buy the warranty fyi. I got a full replacement with the only cost being the new warranty on the new tire.

 

yeah was fun. Getting Frank done to take to Sunlight tomorrow now though.

I think the ST maxx lasts longer then other ATs and is a more aggressive tire and works better offroad. But still quiet and good mileage too.

So compared to the KO2s, i think they work better offroad dude to the bigger lugs and will last longer due to the hard compound. Granted i think the harder compound sacrifices SOME gripe in rocks. But not much. For a truck that does a lot of miles like mine then its a good compromise there. Barely one at that.

yeah. Thats true. For the average user. Because really anything more..you should have a MT.
