Hey guys, I just got my first shell yesterday.
So far it is secured with 4-C clamps, and 4 traditional clamps. So 8 clamps in total. I don't really like how there is very little purchase for the clamps on the truck bed.

It is definitely is rock solid for now, I can rock the truck by pushing on the shell and it doesn't move. However, out on the highway around here there are tons of truck shells on the side of the road, presumably from shells that flew off due in part to the high speed limit. I also do a lot of off roading, so I worry about it getting vibrated loose.

I want to drill it and bolt in to the truck bed to play it safe, but I've never taken apart the bed liner before so this will be a big project for me.

Do you guys think I'm just being anal?
If you guy's have any links or tips on drilling it into my truck bed I would be really thankful for the help.
If I can, I'll try to take some pictures later tonight to show how it is secured.

    Workin' on it....
If it's clamped to the bed tracks that is totally enough. No need to go drilling extra holes in your truck or cap. 8 clamps already is overkill.

    There is no bed liner.

Under the bed rail cap is sheet metal.

8 clamps are more than enough. Put some blue thread locker on them if you want to feel better about vibration.

Awesome, I'll buy some of those as soon as I get a chance.

So you guys don't have any issues off roading using the clamps?
