I picked mine up through Amazon but same concept. I figured with all the dust and dirt it would be wise to prolong the life of the screen. Easy install and has been holding up very well throughout the summer months. Would recommend.

Does yours look like that too?
I wonder if there is a tempered glass version, I think it would look better

Mine does not look that hazy or have the yellow tint to it but to be fair I think it is just due to the lighting when the picture was taken. Mine is a thick plastic much like the HDX smooth plastic cellphone screen protectors. Glass would be great but I didn't see that as an option when I ordered mine.

Are the screens really that fragile?

We have a couple of '13's (Scion, Tacoma) in the family and they look fine.........

I don't think they are fragile but they can scratch. Much like a cellphone screen, not a necessity but the scratches bother me so I threw one on.

Good to hear. The cloudiness tends to clear up after a couple of days.

@Ronademacejr Did you have to cut to fit (i.e. knobs, CD player) or are they precut? Can you provide the actual link? Thank you.

I put one on from eBay( cant remember seller). I figured for $10-15 why not do it. Is it needed? Maybe not but it doesn't hurt to have some added protection.

i can attest to this. after a couple months of owning my first third gen i was on a time crunch and decided to have the truck washed instead of doing it myself. a couple days later, the sun hit the screen at the right angle and there they were, damn scratches! i couldn't stand it, so i got a new truck and put a film on immediately!

Not to thread jack, but I found this one on Amazon. Just ordered and will post an update in this thread if OP doesn't mind.

Finally got around to installing it. I am horrible at picture taking so let me know if you need better pictures. Installation was quite simple. They provide a section cup that you use to help align the glass. I am happy with the overall product. Smudges and smears are way easier to clean off and the glass is smoother and feels more responsive. As for fitment, there is still maybe 1-2 mm gap on each side. The adhesive does not go to the very edge so I'm expecting dust to get in between in the long run. I'm not sure if it is user error or if the LCD screen is slightly recessed along the edges, but there are bubbles when it moves from the standard buttons onto the LCD Display. The JBL logo also has a relatively large bubble around it. Bottom line, would I buy it again? Probably, the bubbles doesn't pop out at me, and I sometimes do not even realize they are there.

It looks good I'll go for the glass next time it's prob more clear than the one I installed. Regardless it's better to have something on than scratching the hell out of the screen
