My only concern with the red clay rally is when it is and damaging my truck. Some of those guys go all out although I do follow it and kind of want to do it lol.

 

Cool man. Yeah, some of those guys take that very seriously. I'm not in it to win it. We took our time and just relaxed. Just like the experience and commodity with the guys and gals. Such great atmosphere. Had suck a good time last Red Clay. Last route was really up to you if you broke things. Most of the tough stuff was bonus stuff and you didn't have to do it. With your rig, I really wouldn't worry about it and if you did, wouldn't be a big deal. Easy fix stuff. At the end of each day, everyone will camp in the same area and there will be entertainment and some fun shenanigans. Def let me know if your down, need to sign up soon.

 

Oh and it's a minimum of 2 Vic's for a team and 3 0r 4 max, so if you have a couple buddies that would like to go.

Also, it's June of next year. Lots of time for planning

 

@Bray1197 Question for you. I am about to purchase that solar setup that you recommended. How did you secure it to the prinsu rack? Did it come with the right attachments, or did you have to buy something else?

EDIT: Add on question: Where did you mount your controller?

 

They provided the brackets I used to mount it although I did have to drill two holes into the metal of the panel, not the solar panel, just the sides of the solar panel where it's only metal. (You'll see what I'm taking about when you get it.) did this bc the cross bars don't directly line up with the holes the already pre-drilled, no big deal, just lay something hard between where you drill and the panel.


Then I went to lowes and bout some stainless steel bolts bc the heads on their proved bolts are too big to slide into

I put the controller in the bed just bc there's no where else to really put it. You will have a ton of solar panel wire, but will prob need to purchase more wire to run from the controller to the battery(if you mount it there.

It's super easy for real! Literally run wire from battery to controller then controller to panel. DONT NOT REVERSE THAT ORDER!! The panel will immediately begin drawing power if in the sun

 

I am going to pull the trigger on this.. The time is now!

I was talking to a shop today about camper shells and they said that the snugtop shell had a higher load capacity up top than the leer xl. How many pounds is yours rated for?

 

Not for as much as I carry lol... I don't know how much to be honest... they just tell me it's not recommended lol

 

I think it was 100 or 150. I was also surprised.

 

Well I have that beat lol.... I look at it as the recommended limit

Oh yeah, that's why I asked you about it before you made this thread. On paper I was like, well that's not gonna work. Then you come along with one working fine and wtf?!

 

The snugtop is rated for 500# from what the store told me. I'm glad that snugtop is located near me so if and when I do decide to go this route they'll be close by should anything arise

wait, can you put 285's on a stock pro and do nothing else to it or am I missing something? (was looking to see how people were modding the 3rd gens and this piqued my interest.)

 

he did some minor trimming, that's it

Do you remember what the trimming needed was?

I'm thinking of grabbing a set soon as snow/winter/off-road tires and just swap them out before I leave. Could be practical for me so long as I can get a TPMS reset system working.
