then 3 inch would be fine...maybe throw on some 35's or something like that...Now this is just my opinion, and i could be wrong, but if you not planning on doing any "actual" off-roading, then i wouldn't really worry about a lift more than 3 inches for a lift. Bigger tires will make it look real real good. But then again i dont really know much about 4 runners....my cousin has one, i'll ask him what he thinks tomorrow....but he did most of the work himself (homemade) you know what i mean...lol

I had a 85 pre runner with a 3 inch sup lift and 3 inch body had 31's on it was sick but a ruff ride because you have to cranck the tortion bars all the way to the top the back is eazy flip it and a 3 inch shackel! Keep in mind it will be bouncy!

1980? There are tons of stuff to do to those trucks. You need to find yourself a solid front axle and a gear-drive transfercase. Check out www.marlincrawler.com for all the parts you need.

Well I was originally asking 1980piledriver for some pictures, but if you've got easy access to pictures of your cousin's that would be great too.

I would think that you should be able to run a kit like an AllPro or Marlin, but it really depends on how much you want to dump into the truck. also what you plan on doing with it. for a minimum lift you can just put some longer shackles on. but if you want to go with new springs then i would say prob these
its a truck, they didnt start making 4runners till late 84.

31s with 6" of lift i bet that looked like crap, also if you had an 85 they did not have tortion bars, tortion bars are an IFS part, IFS started in 86.
