Food Smokers and Smoking Tips/Tricks/Techniques

Tri-tip is a damn good cut to smoke to about 130*, and does not require you to plan your day around the cook time. Good for camping also. Two hours is a good amount of lead time to get the alcohol fueled fuckery started at camp while the meat cooks.




My 10 bags of charcoal will last a while, but I do get that feeling of trepidation when I am below 2k rounds of 556.

 

My local butcher is moving locations to across town so he had a sale yesterday to clear out his coolers. Brisket was 30% off! Unfortunately I was out of town on a wheeling trip and only read about it late last night

 

Could you guys give me some suggestions on something? I'm gonna be going on a vacation for a few days to Tennessee with my family and I want to get a couple cigars to smoke with my father, I could use some suggestions on what to buy

 

We smoke meat on a grill not tobacco.

But seriously, in TN we are known more for smoking meat than making cigars.

 

Tried like hell and kept hitting the like button but it wouldn't let me do a double like. Looks great!

Cut up my brown sugar maple cured bacon last night and cooked breakfast on the Genesis today and ate outside.







Dredged the potato bread through the bacon grease makes damn fine toast cooked over the open flame.





Charcoal grill burning off the new stainless steel grate and the vortex to do chicken wings later today.

 

Tossed some ribs that were on sale onto the smoker. Now we wait. First time in a year ive smoked anything i think.

 

Tri tip is from the bottom sirloin. Just forward of the round in the rear where the leg connects roughly. Hence all the grain changes. So a sirloin steak of sorts. Good size for quick cooks and delicious as others have said.

The other target store had plenty of weber briquettes but at regular price $19.99, not the $5.98 clearance price

Grabbed a couple bags of the Weber briquettes from Target, not for $5.98 though. They were $9.98, oh well, I really just got it to try them out.

 

My target had them at full price, and I already have 12 bags of KBB.
