Done something so stupid? You wish you could take it back. Well yesterday we were taking a load over to our new house in AZ. Well I decide to try the garage door remote with out thinking, I hit the button from the kitchen and hear the garage door start closing and at the same time as my Fiance starts yelling from the garage, I think oh shit my truck!!!! I start hitting the button no response, so I go running out to the garage that is now in the full up position again. So I think great it stopped in time well nope it didn't it hit the truck on top of the cab, leaving a nice little dimple dent in the center front of the cab from the latch in the center of the garage door. Damn what a fricking idiot, is all I can think and my fiance is just looking at me shaking her head.
That is not all, the previous week, I am weed eating the front yard of our other house which is lined with rocks, you see where this is heading don't you? Well sure as shit the weed eater kicks up a rock and hits our dual pane front window and breaks the outer pane of glass. errrrrr
Well I hope today's stupidity/bad luck at work was the end of my bad run.
Ok so I vented... Now does anyone know a good paint-less ding remover in the AZ city/Casa Grande area of AZ?

It does, thank god but, it still left a little dimple dent, that if I didn't know was there I would probably never notice it.

I could fill volumes from some of the stupid shit that I've done. All too often it is when I am trying to multitask at times when I should not, or when I get in a hurry.

I was driving on the shoulder of our mountain road to switch out of 4x4 and I got sucked into the ditch. I did have weight in the back,(240 lbs, too scared to put more cause my leafs are SHOT) and I was digging my self out. Well my friend comes in his lifted GMC 2500 along with his dad. They offer to pull me out and in my mind I don't want to but I said yes. In the end he attached the hook to the metal on my frame that is like 1/8th inches thick. I was looking under my truck the other day and noticed that it was completely broken through and it looked like it ripped through while towing me out cause I have a thing on my bumper that looks like it grabbed to and pulled out some of the metal. I will always check to make sure where the hook gets placed now. Just like the other day when I had to pull out a Frontier, made sure it was placed correctly. Wish I checked the first time :frusty::frusty:

    back to bone stock.
i grew up tormenting my neighbors. i was a horrible kid. i grew up, bought my own home, and the first month..i see a kid running out of my garage with my weed wacker. i figured karma is coming back and biting me in the ass. no big deal. i went and bought the exact model. started it up, and touched it to the grass for a test spin. the very second it touched the ground..it whipped up a rock and hucked it into the windshield of my truck. i had to laugh. i gave the weed wacker to a friend, because it sucked (and was obviously haunted :D). my garage door is the source of 25% of my stupidity. i should take it off, and install a curtain of beads..;)

Garage door thing...been there, done that. It left what looked like scratches all across the roof. I thought, "Hmm, do I have enough touch-up paint in my little bottle for all that?" Turns out it just left dust across the roof and it all washed right off.

Oh, and then there's the time I was washing my wife's highlander with the car wash brush. I had parked the Taco too close to the highlander. So the end of the car wash brush left a good 2-foot long scratch down the rear driver's side door. Can you say "touch up paint?" That was my truck's first boo boo which happened 3 years ago.

EDIT: Dang, Tuckr2 below reminded me of that 3rd instance!!! Guess it's true. Beware those flat-topped lumber carts at places like lowes and home depot. They'll slide right under the tailgate and dent/scratch it while you're moving the load into the bed.:frusty:

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
There should be a sensor down towards the floor on one side of the door track. Move it up the track so it matches the bottom of the taco. Then it won't happen again.

Ouch, ya stupid is as stupid does. Don't know if mine will top that but it certainly stung a bit.

Had my truck all of a week (Still had the temporary tags on it). Gettin ready to do a day trip to pick up my canopy in Oregon.
Father-in-law had a freezer he wanted to get rid of so I volunteered to come and remove it before I put on said canopy and no longer could do this.
Get to in-laws, back the truck up to the porch. Only wife and father-in-law there to help me move. No problem, I have a dolly so no big deal. Get the freezer strapped to the dolly and moved out the door up to the truck. Had to go down a step or two on the porch to reach the truck bed.
Using the dolly, go down the step and then lift the freezer up about 10 inches. Freezer goes on the tailgate. Next go the push the freezer forward. Slides nice and easy on that slippery bed up to the new rubber bed mat. Give it one more push and no go. Ok, so I figure I got to lift just a bit higher. Tell wife and father-in-law a bit more lift please. We lift and push still nothing. Mentally scratching head. Push again. Wife says hold up, dolly stuck. What? What do you mean, I think. She says dolly did not lift.
Huh, oh crap. She's right. We lifted the freezer, but the dolly slid under tailgate.
    Crap. Crap. Crap.
Ya, brand new truck. Nice big scratch on back of tailgate. Crap.

Long story short. Mad as hell. My fault though. Didn't take the time to check everything. Went to Oregon next day. Picked up Canopy. Dropped canopy and Crap scratch Tailgate at Maaco for paint match to truck.
Entire Canopy 250 to paint. Little scratch on tailgate. 200 to Paint.

Didn't even have the license plates on the truck and already scratched it.....

I got me a set of remotes. That way, I can switch when she ain't watching...

My last truck went 7 years without a scratch. Then my wife backed it out of the driveway for me and right along side a brick retainer wall. That one hurt a bit as I was in the process of selling so I had to drop 500 bucks off the price.

Not truck related but pretty stupid. About 4 years ago at work I needed to run a new 20 amp circuit for a copy machine. No big deal right? Well the panel was 3 phase delta and wasn't labeled at all. Needless to say the 120 volt copier got an extra shot of juice and fried the main circuit board. Thank God my boss wasn't pissed. $750 later, not out of my pocket and moving the breaker down one space on the panel all was well. I ALWAYS check the voltage before plugging anything in to a new circuit now. Just one of my dumd-ass moves over the last 36 years. If somebody tells you they have never done anything dumb in their life either A: they are full of shit or B: they just too emmbarassed to admit it!

Leaned up against the side of my Taco to reach something heavy in the bed and found out the hard way how a belt buckle can scratch the paint. That is pretty stupid and embarrassing so I don't tell this story to everyone I meet. Also I brake-checked a gangster-looking dude that was tailgating me, so he chased me for 10 miles down the interstate throwing stuff out the window at me and cursing like a sailor before he finally took an exit. Looking back that was pretty stupid of me too. Surprised he didn't pull out a pistol.
