I think it was keep ice as long, and maybe some of the fit and finish, but for $100, I would go ahead and buy and see. I will probably never buy a Yeti just because of the cost, I don't care if it's the greatest one ever (according to some).

You could always shoot for an RTIC as they are similar in results to a yeti if not the same.

yeah its pretty fun...I grew up running this trail with multiple different trucks, we just ran this trail a few weeks back, a bunch of guys from the nova thread came down and we ran it. I only live 15mins from it and grew up 5 mins from it.

it is really overgrown right now, it will get better in the fall but then you have to start dealing with the bear hunters training their dogs and hunting depending when you go. It closes for like 3 months at the beginning of the year through the bad weather.

Okay, I'm throwing my hands up. I cannot figure out a lift for my truck. There are suspensions, coils (same as coilovers?), bumps, reversing the U-bolt, AAL, spacers, LCA's, UCA's, gizzmo's and whatchacallits. :annoyed:

How can I figure out what the hell to get!?? I don't want a huge lift, definitely not going to get tires that I can't push and ruin my MPG, but at least enough to level out the truck, that I can do some light wheeling, and get 265/75/16 to not rub and not have to cut anything. There are just TOO dang many choices and too many companies out there doing this. What is good, cost effective, and won't break the first time I go out? I really don't want to get the big bumper with a winch and super-blind-you-in-the-dark lights and all that bling stuff, simply because I can't afford it.:goingcrazy:

Sounds like the Bilstein 5100 lifting shocks and maybe a 1-inch block would be a good choice for you. I had that set up on my Tundra and it worked out great.

Then perhaps simply get a set of 5100's, use them with your stock coils, and put them on the second or third setting. this should do exactly what you just said you wanted. IDK if they work the same for 2wd but should be about the same. Other than that contact somebody that actually works on them like Low range off road or maybe even wheelers and see what they suggest. Its really not as complicated as what you think there's just so many options and it gets confusing. If you go with a spindle lift of 3-4 " and 5100's and coils in the front and a 3 leaf progressive aal and extended shocks in the rear it's a nice setup but will be tall for your tires

I try to keep things along the lines of the KISS method it just makes things easier. My little truck is fairly simple and not very tall at all. It's fairly functional but nothing fancy

Does this include new coils or using existing ones, or anything else? Sounds like a simple thing, so maybe I was just missing the trees because of the forest.

for no more than what you say you want to do I would think that would be it and use your stock coils. I would still consider calling s good place like lowrange and making sure though. Ask @buyobuyo what if anything he has on his prerunner

Sounds good to me. Could make it a multi-day trip with some people camping in the forest and others 'roughing it' in local hotels.

    It's a 3 hr drive for me.

Your basic quality lift is going to be new shocks (like 5100) with new coils (OME are popular) and an add-a-leaf for the rear. A spacer lift in the front and blocks in the rear are going to kill the ride quality. Using stock springs on 5100s and jacking the ride height up will also kill the ride quality. It will be really stiff. Like @Casper66 said talk to some of the vendors about your goals, and they should be able to give you suggestions and price quotes. Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road They get rave reviews and have excellent deals.

Being a prerunner, you can also run lift spindles as was mentioned. This will give you 3" or 4" of front lift (depending on which spindle you get) and push out the front track a little. Then I would suggest an AAL for the rear. With a spindle lift, you can keep the stock shock/coil and not kill your ride quality.

You don't need UCAs until you start pushing around 3" of lift in the front. SPC UCAs are reasonably priced and have the best adjustability of any of the UCAs on the market. There's an ongoing deal in the Group Buy forum. New bumpstops are nice but not a necessity. I believe a number of lift options come with spacers that allow you to reuse your stock bumps. U-bolt flip kits give you piece of mind that you're going to bash the shit out of your u-bolts and not be able to get them off, but again aren't a requirement.

I think your best bang for the buck is going to be shocks for all 4 corners, coils, and an AAL for the rear. Depending on height, you might need new brakes lines if you end up stressing the stock lines at full droop, but there's an ongoing deal in the Group Buy forum for those as well or lots of places sell them.

My suspension is stock AF, but I'm preparing to go full retarded. +2 front LT, King coilover w/ 700# springs, SUA LT rear, 12-14" King rear shocks, and rear shock relocation. The front is ordered, but I've got to let the credit card recover and decide which rear setup I'm going with.

Choco said he only wanted to ""level the front. He only wants to be able to fit 265's. To me, I would think that he could get away then with noe rear lift (if he only wants to level) and 5100's on either the ,85 setting or 1.75 setting with stock coils. Yes I'd prefer to have the 5100's set at 0 and do the lifting with the coils but he'l only probably need 1.5-2" of lift for that. IDK I still think better to call a good vendor and see what they say. If your going to get struts and coils spend a little extra and get them preassembled

He said 'at least enough to level the front'. To me that leaves it open to lifting the rear as well.

I'm running 265/70/17 which are the the same size as 265/75/16. They fill out the stock wheel well nicely, but it won't take much lift for them to look like stock size tires again. I do get a little rubbing at full lock when I'm backing up. When I finish my lift and my tires wear out, I'm going to either 255/80/17 or 285/70/17. I'm leaning toward the 255s because my rims are only 7" wide and the recommended rim width for 285s starts at 7.5-8".
