    Had a fellow member replace my lcas with moog both sides an installed icon lift as well. They are oem quality an have no complaints I'll go with them again when I need to replace. Here's a pic side by side.

    Just curious why you "need" to replace them?

    A while back I ordered a LCA because I was self diagnosing a clunk (I turned out to be wrong) and thought the bushings were the problem. I ordered a new LCA because it came with bushings (from Rockauto). They sent me a 4runner one instead. In the time it took to deal with customer service and return it (was was actually great to deal with), I decided to just replace my bushings with urethane ones instead, so I just returned the LCA they sent. Like I said, it didn't end up being the problem, but at least I got nicer bushings in the process, lol.

    LCA's just aren't one of those things that fail on the Tacomas, so unless the LCA is damaged somehow, I'd consider burning out the rubber bushings and go poly (if bushings are your issue) for 1/4 the price.

    Bushing are bad on both. One is seized and the other is falling apart.

    I thought about replacing the bushings and balljoints, but my time is more valuable, so I'd rather swap out the whole LCA.

    Cambolts were seized on mine only option was to cut out.

    The bushings that are gonna come in the replacements will be just as crappy as the original ones. Keep the LCA, and put these in and never look back. And yes they do fit many have done them.

    i think in the even i ever need to change lca bushings or LBJ ill just replace the whole LCA. from what ive read on the forums the LBJ is a PITA to replace and you have to remove the whole LCA to replace the bushing in it anyway.
    plus for that price^ id rather pay the extra $100+ and save time and just throw in a whole new LCA with the BJ

    lower BJ failure haunts me and im thinking in the future i will need new LBJ so ill probably get the moog set of LCA's

    LBJs are pretty easy to replace on the first gens. You don't need to remove the LCA at all.

    First, loosen the 4 bolts holding the LBJ to the spindle, then pop off the tie rod end and the ball joint off using a pitman arm puller. Then remove the 4 bolts.

    Installation is even easier.

    The problem is if those 4 bolts are seized, or maybe the BJ is seized where the arm presses into the control arm.

    EDIT: I didn't realize the 2nd gens come with a BJ and the bushings...I was talking about a 1st gen...

    True, didn't mean to sound like I was bashing you...

    I honestly can't even tell from the manufacturer website, are those rubber or poly? They say "elastomer" but that isn't really descriptive.

    Are those the upper and lower bushings, or just the lower?

    Poly and just the lower. I know a few people that have done the Moog Bushings and they just don't fit good enough and snuggly. They get movement, and I have heard on here of the dislike for the Energy version. @Crom who is one of the most educated maintenance guy I know on here recommends these as well.

    Interesting. I have nothing but good things to say about the ES ones. The method of removing the OEM bushings is a little unconventional (burning them out), but hey, it's just a little fire... :) I get that they squeak a bit sometimes, but you just lube them up. I do wish the LCA had zerk fittings...

    To me, the added benefit to this style is that you never need a press again. They're a tight fit, but you don't need to press in/out the metal sleeves. Just push the bushings in, and hammer the sleeves with a mallet.

    You've got me thinking about them though. Thanks for the info. I've got a 1st gen, BTW...
