My truck would jerk back and forth between 1800 to 2500 or so rpm almost like it missing or running out of fuel. Not all the time but usually when I was going up a small grade with light throttle.

My MT will do that as well if I am in 2nd gear, roll a speed bump and then try to get back up to speed.

Yeah but this is when you were going 50mph in say 5th gear and let off the throttle and then lightly press it or on the interstate doing 80 in 6th and let off the throttle some and got back on it.

I have had that happen as well. I just thought it didn't want to pull 6th and would down shift to 5th and it would fix it. Haven't had that happen if I am 3000 plus rpm.

Just a quick FYI, if you get your truck updated by the dealership for whatever reason, check with @OVTune and make sure your tune from him is still the right one before you flash back to it. Maybe he can clarify more.

Yes if you get an ECU / Calibration / TCM Calibration update from the dealership please let us know and do NOT over-write it with a previously made tune.

I believe I got all pending files sent out, if I missed you please let me know.

There are two customers with 04B01 ECU versions that will have to go to their local dealerships for a simple calibration update. OR you can use Techstream-Lite + the tactrix cable to do it from home.
Unfortunately this calibration update is a minimum required because of the transmission, and the files are locked to eachother upon flashing so we can't do it our way. :( if you have this file version I will email you tomorrow.

    goodnight

This morning I flashed 1.01B to my truck. After the flash completed I clicked ok and tried to do the identification again just to see the versions and such. It said failed. I tried to start the truck, it wouldn't start. Hmmm....

I closed the program and unplugged the cable. And turned off the truck.

Not gonna lie, I was kinda worried, but I turned the truck back on, plugged there cable back in and opened the program. I tried to do the identification again, failed. So I decided to try to flash the 1.01B one more time. This time when it finished I clicked ok and turned the truck off like it tells me to.
I turned it on again I tried identification, success. I tried to start the truck, success!
    :goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

I guess turning the truck off after is like restarting your computer after a software install.

So I'll be driving today and will give feedback of stock (thanks to dealership) to 1.01B. Initial feel is night and day though. I had 1.01A prior to dealership update.

Got my files at 12:15 am central time! Wrote them to truck just a few minutes ago. Will drive off and on today and report back at some point.

FYI, I have stock intake and exhaust.

Oh, and I'm unhooking my shift sense pro also.

No stutter on way to work today and I was getting that in a couple of places each day with 1.01A and the pipe. Very happy stutter and backfiring is gone. Something has changed with how the auto shifts and cant put my finger on it. Did not run ECT this AM as I wanted to compare to past commutes with cruise on so no update on accelerator pedal feel. D without ECT feels good. This is not comparing to the stock tune. The OVTune is so much better than stock. The way the truck drives changed completely. This is mostly addressing issues I had after adding the Spec U pipe to the tune. I had run the tune about 700miles before adding the pipe. Then another 700 miles with both and with more than 200miles off-road total now.

@OVTune I still feel the engine falls on its face when you go WOT from a dead stop, it takes way too long to get to 2K RPM and start making power.

I hope that there will be some data logging or dyno time with the Spec U pipe used to make the 1.02 update. I know there is more untapped power in this engine.

I was not getting any misfires other than random or on a cold start before the engine was fully up to temperature. My logs just showed the timing going insane right at 1750 RPM with light throttle input.

Can't tell if yall got into my head or not but had a cold start this morning and was sitting at about 1600 and felt this back and forth motion. It felt like vibration but more static. Will load B tonight for sure.

I don't have the tune yet, but have the new crank sensor and on idle I was watching timing bounce between 4-25°. Something isn't right in these motors.

got 1.01B on my MT last night, ran about 100mi today.

no stutter, pulls a little better than 1.01a from what i can tell. it runs normal with a pretty linear throttle and feels a bit cleaner or filled out in terms of power delivery... relying on the butt dyno of course. makes me feel I'm doing something good for the motor by removing all this weird muting Toyota had on there. "had" being the key word.

pretty damn fulfilling to have this truck drive just like it should and what i was eventually hoping for with motor performance. drives really nice with the MT and our 4.3's.

anyone silly enough to still be waiting around for verified driveability improvements, stop waiting and get your wallet. i think i can only speak for the MT's... leaving an AT owner for their reports.

thanks, Mat. looking forward to further development.
