With my stock truck, would sliders and some skids be adequate to run blues?

Absolutely. Bumper damage is always a possibility however. And you WILL scratch/dent your skids.
I did blues and blue/blacks my first time out with stock suspension and 33s. But I had plate bumpers

The skids and sliders are there to take the damage instead of the body as I see it. My stock aluminum skid is already fucked from Saturday, I expected that however. When i get into the shop to make the sliders I'll rip that off and make myself something from 1/8" plate. What/where else should I consider skid plating? I see the stock cross members and somewhere I recall seeing someone replaced them with tubing with attached skids?

I'd do 3/16 or 1/4. Did u do a exhaust reroute? I'd do all the way back to there. The reroute will clear extra inch or inch and a half.

If you are going to run blues, you want a full set of skids from IFS to the transfer csse. And 1/8" is too thin. 3/16" with reinforcements in key areas will be the best. Sliders will protect the body, skids will protect the vital components under the truck.

F-it, I think i've got some 3/4" road plate laying around! In all seriousness, is 1/4" overkill or warranted? This is still my DD but I want to be able to go offroading and not destroy it.

Most, if not all vendors, use 3/16" on their skids but they have proper bracing behind it.

@HolyHandGrenade has 1/4" IFS skid.ost of us run braced 3/16". IMO I would still bend a 1/4" skid without bracing.

1/8" is still pretty thin, you might want to consider thicker, even my 1/4" plate reinforced w/ angle iron transfer case skid is bowing from one or two hard hits
