I was trying not to take the whole grill off the truck. That the only way to do it?

Yeah, it's only held in by two or four bolts if memory serves.... just pop out the whole grill and lay it on a towl or something on the floor.... no way you could do it still attached to the truck.

It is going to be really difficult to not take it off. Two bolts at the top and two plastic retainers and it pops right off.

I have a question For those of you that have rock sliders and use them. I recently got these rock sliders(for free) they are a little bit too much short and I was wondering if they would be counterproductive because of the gap in the front ? (seems like the perfect stop for a rock to get stuck)

Yes use a screwdriver but be careful, do a little on each tab equally and eventually they will all come out.

Is this a Toyo tire or is this made directly by Les Schwab? It's a good looking tire, also if you don't mind how much did they run ya?

Yep two bolts and two plastic clips on the top. Four plastic clips on the bottom. Real easy. Did it on Sunday.

Glad you posted this. This is next on my list of mods and it looks like you did exactly what I want to do. I have a shell with Thule racks and have been looking at awnings. Is the an ARB awning? If, so what size is it? It looks like the perfect size for the truck. Also, what method did you use for mounting it to the tracks? Can you send some pictures of the mounting in the tracks? So to hassle you, but when you post some dope shit, that is what happens, man. Appreciate any help/info you don't mind providing! Plus, post some pictures with those F5's and Duratracs! Soon as those F5s are in stock, I'm pulling the trigger.

You should remove the entire shroud before you try to remove the chrome part of the grille. I did a quick search on YouTube and found this:https://youtu.be/4H80y5x1L38
There may be a better instructional video out there...

You shouldn't need to use a screw driver to remove those tabs. Just push it with a finger. Less apt to break that way. Buen suerte.

I don't think the 4 clips on the bottom actually need to be removed for just the upper grille... I have removed the grille on 3 separate 3rd gens and I'm pretty sure i only removed the 2 screws and 2 pop up clips on top each time.

    Then just pull it out..
