i just put 35 miles on new 265/65 17 BF Goodrich AT ko2's and I need something lighter in weight. I knew these were heavy tires but I'm surprised at how much power they robbed. What all terrain tires are lighter than these?

C or LT rated tires will be lighter.

    Too few to list.
AT tires are heavy and E loads like K02's are probably one of the heaviest out there. If you're just going for looks, you can switch to SL (standard load) or P rated tires which are lighter. I believe Falken Wildpeaks, Nittos, Hankooks have somewhat the looks you'd want but lighter tires overall. 265/75R16 are 53.57lbs according to the BFG site. That's heavy!

Yeah I'm definitely trading these in. I had the exact same size in the bf Goodrich rugged terrains. I think they are discontinued or I would just get those again.

Thanks for the replies. What do you like as far as a non all terrain tire?

Do they even make the BFG AT KO2 in anything but a load range E?

Yea, for daily driving/commuting you need a less heavy tire. Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac or Falken Wildpeak AT3W or Cooper Discoverer AT3

So the hankook atm's are 4 ply and the ko2's are 10 ply, correct? I can see the weight difference.

I have the Cooper ST/MAXX 265/75/16 and I am going to switch over to Cooper AT3's in C Load

These are the exact 3 I was debating between for my 4Runner. I went with the Cooper AT3 since they were the least expensive

Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10's in a P265/75R16 are THE LIGHTEST AT tires you can get (39lbs).

That stated, i wouldnt recommend them if you live in a wet area or much snow / ice. I have had them on my truck and do lots of winter mountain driving for snow skiing and while they did better than the stock rugged fails.... they never really impressed me much, They have worn ok but after 20k miles everything other than dry pavement traction started to go downhill fast and they started to get rather noisy.

My next set of tires will be the Cooper Discoverer AT3 in a LT265/75R16 in a C rating (NOT E) which are 46lbs per tire, but have a 16.5/32 tread depth vs the hankooks at 13/32nds. (the K02's you got are 53lbs per tire)

Same here....Not sure about the Cooper, but a SL Duratrac is lighter than a SL Falken Wildpeak. If I had to chose again, I would have chosen Duratrac over Falken for just that reason.
