@OVTune Another observation on 1.01B: When slowly accelerating from a stop (I mean slow) to about 25 MPH top speed. The transmission will up shift normally then quickly down shift and up again (1-2 seconds) at about 15-20 MPH. This seems to be 2nd-3rd-2nd-3rd.

I never had this before. Some have had flares this would be similar to except in this case the transmission is changing gears instead of it just flaring and you seeing an RPM spike and then drop again. unlike a flare you feel the engine is still putting torque to the drivetrain.

Dude, thank you for your report! I can't wait to get the 1.01b on my MT tonight. Really pumped on this and can't wait to feel the difference in the engine.

Just to Echo what was said earlier...any concerns or drivability problems, being as this is alpha and this thread is huge, would probably be better serviced by e-mailing Mat directly and give him a chance to work it out rather than give undue concern and difficulty tracking down concerns in this thread.

Thanks man, really glad this worked out for you. Can't wait to have a normal, predictable M/T drivetrain.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on this tune. I have all the MT symptoms you guys are discussing....

Mat, i notice the new instructions are not up on your website regarding the dongle registration changes. Is the new instructions sent with the initial order?

Anyone in Tulsa, OK area installed this tune?

    Its the same instruction.

Follow pg.3 for software download and then skip to pg.11-18 to read and write file.

I installed 1.01b today and drove for about 30 miles. The shifting sure has become quicker. It used to slowly execute the actual upshift. Now it just pops right in.

REVIEW: Stock --> 1.01b (2016 TRD Sport 4X4 AT) (No aftermarket CAI or Exhaust)

I have been following this thread since the beginning and have enjoyed it thoroughly... With that said, I have been with the latest tune for less than a day and been 52 wonderful miles. The throttle response is awesome/crisp, the shifting is much smoother, and the butt dyno tells me that we have finally solved so many of our problems. I live in a fairly hilly area where the AT would hunt for gears climbing the smallest of hills. With the 1.01b, my truck never had to do this...

We also have some flat areas that you can really open it up. I pressed the accelerator like I typically would, and before you know it, I was going 80+mph in no time flat... Needless to say, I was having one hell of a time :) At one point, I pulled over a texted my wife that "there may be a speeding ticket in the near future"

So, gentlemen, get ready to spend you hard earned cash on this tune. It makes driving this Tacoma FUN again! You definitely will not be disappointed! Awesome work @OVTune! Great product! Can't wait for 1.02!

Loaded up B. Coming from A I can tell a difference. Obviously I haven't completed my learn cycle but any sputtering I had is gone. While not as extreme as others I had minor sputtering during cold start on my way to work, and heavy in reverse at low RPM(around 600). I don't feel any of that now. Tomorrow's drive to work will confirm this for me.

Also I can concur that shifts feel different. Might be the learn cycle playing tricks though.

EDIT: not sure what the deal is but I accidently peeled out of my driveway with B. Never happened with A. Live on a cinder road.

One thing I would really like to see is an S mode gear lock so it wont downshift when pushing the accelerator in any given gear.

    Sorry, really just SUB!
Ballpark, how many people have the mod?

Probably will hit the 1/4 mile track once I load the file, since my work is 1 mile away.

If I do, it'll be one run each. Stock non ECT, stock ECT, tune non ECT and tune ECT.

Yes, its sac raceway. Haven't been there since I got out of the rice rocket...

Installed 1.01b last night then took the truck up the hill this morning with a full tank and all loaded up. It ran so good I forgot to put ECT on.
