It really does suck. I will just have to save up and hope for a good deal in the near future and also maybe get a CMC done while I wait.

Might be putting them in your truck once you figure out what you're going to go with.

Also, I did like Coot's idea of maybe riding in/driving a few different setups when we can get another meet together to help you decide. The only other Taco I rode in before I did anything to mine was a 1st gen w/ OME everything, including the heavy springs up front. It rides like a dump truck if you ask me. My Bilsteins on the 2nd notch were way better. Until I hung all kinds of weight on the nose and had to move the perch to the top notch. Instant dump truck.

In other words, take your time. Save money while you're deciding. If it takes you long enough to decide, you might just be able to afford Kings and buy once. :D

You ain't lying. That's why I have AC in the camper. But if we're tent camping, it better be in the 60's or cooler.

Looking through the pictures, I am digging the look of the ones with 5100s with 884s, and Wheelers 1.5 progressive AAL. Now to start seeing what people are selling.

I don't do a lot of off-roading, and I am new to modding my truck, so excuse my ignorance, but what purpose does that bar off the front bumper serve? Is it for towing or to knock stuff down or what?:anonymous:

Its called a stinger and it helps to balance the front when going up steep stuff I believe. I know many jeep guys like this style to help keep them from tipping over in extreme angles.

The "stinger" is there primarily to knock stuff out of your way and give the grill protection as far as I know
yeah Lucky does quite a bit of off roading I believe with a group of family and friends who are primarily Jeep guys.

I always thought it was for when those short little Jeeps drop off ledges, the stinger can keep them from flopping forward.

Then again, I've seen them on arctic exploration trucks too, keeping the front end up in case they fall in a crevasse crossing glaciers and stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are right on this one fish. I remember someone telling me it was for weight distribution, but given the orientation of it your thoughts make more sense.

Hey just saw that a Coleman 70-qt Xtreme is on sale for less than $50 on Amazon. It doesn't have the clips or anything to keep the lid tight, but probably nothing that a bungie cord couldn't tackle.

Not sure how to add a direct link, but here is a copy of the URL:

I know the arctic exploration part is true... saw it on a documentary on The Discovery Channel. Although, I don't trust them since they got rid of Mythbusters. A little piece of my inner nerd died that day. :(
