    One of mine is a Gibson and the other is a 1993 Epiphone G-400 I bought new. The mods cost more than the guitar is worth, but I'll never get rid of it, so I don't care. I replaced the pickups, the whole wiring harness, the tuners, and the nut. The one in my avatar is a 2014 Gibson SG. I bought the body from The Stratosphere and built it up myself.

    That's the same way I feel about this Dime. I paid $200 for it and now $200 more for pickups.
    My Ibanez roadstar 2 I've had for almost 30 yrs. It's found it's way back to me after selling it twice.
    I'll give them all to the nephew's someday if they want em. If not, they will prob get tossed in the dump.

    That Ibanez is my favorite one you posted. I remember drooling over a Gem in a guitar shop window in the 80s that had the same floral pattern.

    Yea, the 777 was my fav guitar at the time. I painted the neck with model paint after drawing the vine and leaves on it. Surprisingly, none of it has worn.
    I couldn't bring myself to cut the monkey grip in it.

    But how could you possibly carry your guitar without the monkey grip? Haha! Nice job on the paint. I've been watching those videos too. Not sure if I'll grab a new Gem or not. My first guitar in the 80s was a Charvel Model 1. Still looking for a nice original one of those.

    Well. The wiring diag looked simple enough but I wasn't that confident in myself just yet to do a string change on the Floyd Rose. So I turned over to my local guitar shop to have them relax the neck a bit and do a setup while they are changing the pickups out.
    So far....$325 into a $200 guitar.
    Dean sells the Dime camo for $425....so I'm already over budget........just like my truck!! :)

    String changes suck on Floyd Rose trems if you're changing gauges. Otherwise, its just tune, tune, and tune again until it finally balances out. I took my Japanese ESP with a Floyd from 9-42 to 10-52 and it took at least an hour of adjustments before it balanced. Once you get them dialed in, a Floyd can't be beat for stability. I've slowly gotten to the point where I can build my own wiring harnesses, but it took a lot of time. I bought the ones in my SGs, but have since modded them with coil splits. I built the harness in my G&L Legacy (Strat) from scratch.

    Yea. They can be a pain.
    I didn't have any trouble switching tuning from D+30cents, up to E then down to whatever slayer used on south of heaven. Finally set with D standard. It took me a few tries but after a few YouTube vids, it wasn't to bad

    I Full string change is another story.

    The guitar of mine that has the dimebucker still has cyclic hum after many years. Only one of many pup changes to do it.

    I guess it's just too damn hot!

    In what guitar? I saw a youtube vid that had one grounded to a bridge post that was coated in that black paint and it was humming real bad. Guy fixed it.
