At some point I'd recommend picking up a girls barbell and some rubber plates.

Better to practice your oly lifts with some PVC pipe first

I've got a standard barbell and some plates at the house already. I've been weight training off/on for sports since I was 15, I can handle it ;) Thank you for the suggestion though.

Thanks, I actually have experience with those from college ball. Not my favorite, but at least I've got the form down.

Are the plates rubber? I only say rubber plates because crossfit involves a lot of dropping of the weights.

Oh, I didn't know that part. They are not. Guess I will pick those up soon too. (By the way, I do appreciate your help. Sorry if I came off as sarcastic before. Not intentional.)

No worries here. Rogue has the best product on the market right now

    www.rouguefitness.com

See if you can swing by a gym in your area, they might offer a discount for the gym in a box or better yet, more of a discount for the stuff used at regionals/sectionals

So I saved "murph" for today. Did it on my own in the park, so the motivation wasnt necessarily there and as a result, I probably could've done marginally better. The best I could muster was 55:15. man.. I am SPENT though. I think a 9 or 10 hour night of sleep is in order :)

If you have a gym in your area, I would highly suggest going for at least a month to be able to go through the fundamentals class. There are a lot of odd lifts that we use, and crossfit can hurt you pretty bad if you arent using the best form. I was in weight training all through High School and the form is completly different. Just a little food for thought.

Just go to the gym and sweat it out. That's the plan with my cold.

Last I had checked, there isn't one within reasonable driving distance, especially with the time constraints I have with work. Thank you for the advice though, guess I will be studying videos off my computer.
